Dodo AdvisorPublished 3 years ago in WanderIndia's first sea bridge
Pamban Bridge is a railway bridge which connects the town of Mandapam in mainland India with Pamban Island, and Rameswaram. Opened on 24 February 1914, it was India's first sea bridge, and was the longest sea bridge in India until the opening of the Bandra-Worli Sea Link in 2010. The rail bridge is, for the most part, a conventional bridge resting on concrete piers, but has a double-leaf bascule section midway, which can be raised to let ships and barges pass through. Until 1988, the Pamban bridge was the only surface transport that connected Tamil Nadu's island of Rameswaram to the mainland. In December 2018, the bascule of this bridge was damaged, which suspended transportation on the bridge for 3 months. Rail movement was again restored on 27 February 2019.

You rehearse rhododendron forests also as open-vista trails surrounded by towering peaks before crossing the Thorong La Pass at 5,416 meters (17,769 feet). Finally, you descend to the spiritual center of Muktinath and therefore the arid landscape beyond the Annapurna Himalayan chain.

Bright colours, the best food ever (ramen), cuteness overload, temples full of ancient histories, weird robots, very expressive costumes, mysterious geishas, the kindest people I’ve ever met — I love Japan. Really. And I want to share with you why.

While little known in the West, Huangshan is a culturally significant site that is a strong draw for Chinese tourists. Located in Anhui province in central China, it is a "small city" by Chinese standards with 1.4 million people. While there are many attractions in the city, the major draw is the Yellow Mountain itself, made famous by thousands of years of depictions in art and poetry. Countless people per year come to the city with tourist groups that lead them right up the mountain in hopes of seeing the "sea of clouds" that forms if the weather is just right.

The Annapurna Circuit Trek is widely considered to be one of the world's best high-altitude trekking trails. Lush forests, terraced fields, and densely populated settlements can be found in the lower Annapurna zone. The upper-trans Himalayan area, on the other hand, is arid, barren, and sparsely inhabited. The lower region is dominated by Hindus, while the upper region is dominated by Muslims.
