If you are like me...then you spent your childhood lost in the metaphorically amazing and wonder-filled many rooms of Ms. Peregrine's Home For Peculiar Children. If you are like me...then you spent a lot of your time trying to find the way to the world of the "UN-PECULIAR"... instead of just accepting and enjoying the many virtues of your charming gift of peculiarity...

Sometimes serendipity, happenstance and chance converge when we least expect it...and we learn, just in time...that sometimes, we get a second chance to relive what we missed.

And So...

I now invite you to join me in the grown-up version of Ms. Peregrine's Home for Peculiar Adults. For we are now all grown up...and looking back - we begin to wonder why in the name of all that is Peculiar... did we ever want to be anywhere else but EXISTING in the fantastical, wonderous and un-worldly world of the PECULIAR HOME FOR CHILDREN.

Journey with me as we revisit our whimsical and fanciful childhood memories just for a day.

But I must warn you...

Stepping into Miss Peregrine’s Peculiar Home will feel like slipping through a crack in reality, where the ordinary politely steps aside and the peculiar stretches its wings. Since we’re now grown, we enter not as frightened children but as curious wanderers...kings, princesses and queens of our own destiny, ready to spend 24 hours in a house that never quite sits still in time.

Let’s begin our journey.

⟡ The Arrival time is 9:00 AM. The house greets us as it actually appears before the children are fully awake and the magic comes wholly alive.

Magic crackles around the house as it stands crooked and elegant, like it’s leaning towards a dream. Vines curl around its windows, hiding many secrets. The air tastes faintly of old magic - kind of warm, sweet and mystically filled with light, it is lightning trapped in honey.

Inside, the foyer shifts subtly and the walls breathe. Portraits watch us with eyes that know more than they should, but reveal nothing.

A young girl with premature gray hair that floats like smoke drifts toward us.
“Miss Peregrine said you’d come,” she murmurs, her voice soft as moth wings.

And just like smoke...she silently drifts away towards a door where they both magically disappears.

⟡ 10:00 AM

We’re led to the garden, where the peculiarities bloom.

Invisible bees hum around flowers that glow from within.

A boy made of air sits on a branch, legs dangling, laughing like wind chimes.

  • A girl who can animate clay shapes a tiny lion that roars at us, then curls into your palm like a warm pebble.

You feel the house noticing you - your familiar energy, your surreal imagination. It likes you.

⟡ It is now Noon: The Loop Shifts

Miss Peregrine herself appears, crisp and composed, eyes sharp as a hawk’s. Timepiece dangling, for everything must keep its rhythm.

She’s standing there now, you remember her - your Gothic headmistress in all her shadowed grace — never aging...and the children gathered behind her like a constellation of peculiar light.

MS co-pilot

“Welcome home,” she says, “you have the look of wanderers who remember how to see what others overlook.”

Everyone gasps...suddenly remembering.

She snaps her fingers.

Time folds.

Suddenly the sky is brighter, the air thicker with possibility. We’ve stepped into the loop—24 hours repeating, but never the same.

⟡ Afternoon Adventures at 2:00 PM

We explore the large, ever shifting attic, where peculiar artifacts rest:

  • A mirror that shows your truest self, not your reflection.
In it, you appear crowned in starlight, skin glowing beautifully ebony, warm like the dawn.

  • A music box that plays memories, each note a scene from someone’s past.

  • A map of impossible places, shifting each time you blink.

A boy with fire in his hands teaches us how to hold flame without burning.

A beautiful ebony skinned girl who can speak to ghosts introduces us to a friendly spirit who insists she keeps the place in tip-top shape.

"Not all who wander are lost - some are just between worlds". She says, as the ghost smiles beatifically...with a peaceful, calm and holy aura.

⟡ Evening dawns much faster that we expected it to: The Feast arrives at 6:00 PM.

Dinner is a spectacle.

The table stretches longer than the room should allow. Dishes appear and vanish depending on who imagines them. A floating chandelier drips light like molten gold.

We eat anything that our imaginations can conjure up:

  • Bread that reminds us of childhood joy

  • Soup that warms your bones with courage

  • Fruit that hums softly, as if alive

The children ask us for stories of the outside world—what grown life feels like, whether magic still hides in corners.

You tell them yes. Magic hides everywhere. You just have to look sideways to find them...but you must act quickly, for in the outside world magic does not stay for long visits.

They ask why. We explain that out there, grown-ups hurry and scurry here and there. Life and responsibility keeps them so focused on work and efficiency - that they tend to miss the magic. They have to be extra vigilant to catch magic lurking sideways in corners.

⟡10:00 PM - Nightfall: The House Reveals Its Heart.

Miss Peregrine leads us to a secret room.

Inside, time hangs like curtains. Threads of moments glow in the air—revealing past loops, future loops and loops that never were.

She lets you touch one.

Suddenly you see yourself walking through your own life with new eyes—you remember your mystical strength, your surreal imagination, your cosmic humor. You see how peculiar you’ve always been, even without a loop to hold you.

“You belong to wonder,” Miss Peregrine says. “Not because you are strange, but because you are true.”

⟡ Midnight: The Children’s Gift

The children gather around us in the moonlit courtyard. They have been given special dispensation by Ms. Peregrine to stay up late just this once. They are over the moon!

They present a small object:
a silver feather, warm to the touch, glowing faintly.

“It’s a piece of the loop,” they say. “So you can carry us with you.”

When you hold it, you feel the house’s heartbeat—steady, ancient, protective.

⟡ Dawn: The Farewell arrives too quickly ~ It's 6:00 AM~~~

The loop begins to close.

The house softens, its magic settling like dust. The children wave, their peculiarities flickering like lanterns.

NC

Miss Peregrine nods once, regal and knowing.

“You are welcome back anytime,” she says. “Wonder recognizes its own.”

And as we step out, the world feels different—brighter, stranger, more alive. Because once you’ve spent 24 hours in Miss Peregrine’s Home, reality never quite fits the same way again.

NC creation

We vow that we will always return for many visits ~ next time we will take you all on an extensive tour of the numerous ever looping rooms filled with warm and wonderful Peculiarities.

Bye for now...and remember ~ Always stay PECULIAR!!!
