Manaslu Circuit Trek Route

Starting from the border of the Gorkha and Dhading districts of Nepal, also known as Aarughat, the Manaslu Circuit Trek in Nepal officially begins. Heading through traditional villages such as Jagat, Dobhan, Tilje and visiting the Larke La Base Camp in Dharmasala makes this trek even more enjoyable. How Difficult is Manaslu Circuit Trekking?

Manaslu Circuit Trek is considered moderate to strenuous in terms of difficulty. The Manaslu Trekking starts from the lower altitude of 700 m to a higher altitude of 5106 m at Larke La Pass. Manaslu trek is considered a harder trek as compared to the Annapurna Circuit Trek and Everest Base Camp trek.

Even for seasoned trekkers, some sections of the trails can be difficult. You’ll be walking on sloppy, rugged, and steep trails. The roads are rough and dusty since many areas of Manaslu are still remote. Manaslu Circuit Trek Difficulty would be difficult for the first few days of the trails because the routes are steep and narrow. When you cross several suspension bridges over the Budhi Gandaki River, the trails will be breezy. The main difficulty of Manaslu Trek is its a rise in altitude for which every trekker needs to be prepared. The altitude mountain sickness may occur to anyone. Altitude sickness, also known as acute mountain sickness (AMS), is a natural occurrence while trekking at high altitudes. Fatigue, lack of appetite, and headache are early symptoms of altitude sickness. As a result, being well-versed in altitude sickness can only enhance your trekking experience. Prepare the itinerary including at least 2 days of acclimatization day. Hiking up slowly, hydrating yourself, or having medicine(consult the doctors) is the only way to tackle AMS in Manaslu circuit Trek.

What are the required permits for Manaslu Circuit Trek?

To monitor tourism in the Manaslu Region (between Jagat and Dharapani), the Nepalese government declared it a restricted area. As a result, independent trekkers are not permitted to enter Manaslu and must obtain a special entry permit. According to government regulations, a party must have a minimum of two trekkers and a local guide.

The required permits for Manaslu Circuit Trek are:

Special Restricted Area Permit for Manaslu:

From Jagat until you cross Sama Gaun, you’ll need this Manaslu trek permit. You’ll need another entry permit (ACAP) once you’ve passed through the village of Sama! The cost of the Manaslu RAP is determined by how many days you spend traveling between Jagat and Dharapani. RAP’s final checkpoint is in Sama Gaun.

Cost: September to November: USD 100 per person for the first seven days and an additional USD 15 per person per day from the eighth day onwards.

December to August: USD 75 per person for the first seven days and an additional USD 10 per person per day from the eighth day onwards.

Manaslu Conservation Area Project:

The cost of the permit is USD 30. This Manaslu trek permit is required where the Manaslu Conversation Area starts. The cost remains the same throughout the year.

Annapurna Conservation Area Project (ACAP Permit):

You will trek to Besi sahar from Dharapani where ACAP permit is required. The cost of the permit is USD 30.
