But, how do you pack for a trip to Dubai? Obviously, it is an Islamic country and you need to respect cultural differences. On the other hand it is your holiday and you need to sport your bikini clad body. Let's talk about how to pack wisely for Dubai to balance both sides. 

How to pack for pool time and water parks in Dubai?

One of the top things to do in Dubai on a hot day is enjoying pool time. You can also find plenty of aquatic fun at water parks. Hotels like the Anantara Downtown Dubai provide ample pool time. You can pack a bikini or two to wear at the pool and water parks. There are no restrictions on what you can wear at your hotel pool or water park. Don't forget that you'll have to pass through the lobby, and pack an elegant cover up along. A beach towel might not be sufficient. A floor length t-shirt dress would work, or a fancy bathrobe. At the beach, you could wear a one piece swimsuit and pair it with a sarong for strolling. Always cover up when you leave the beach to even go to a restaurant. Pack a wide brimmed hat and sunscreen to protect yourself against the harsh sun. 

How to pack for dining out in Dubai?

In Dubai, people dress fabulously. So pack some fashionable You can even pack a dress with bare shoulders, but remember to carry a pashmina. These are public places and you need to dress conservatively. This means no spaghetti straps, no shorts and no miniskirts. You can wear flowing dresses that cover your legs and shoulders. Loose linen pants and matching tops (that cover your shoulders) are a good option. It is advisable to wear sleeves that at least cover 3/4 of your arms. The best footwear option for malls is comfortable and flat shoes to be able to walk around without discomfort. Carry a pashmina or light jacket around for when it gets a bit too cool inside. 

How to dress for a desert safari in Dubai?

This is the one place where it is okay to wear shorts and tank tops. Desert safaris usually start around 3pm and you get to stay around for gorgeous sunsets. Beat the heat with comfortable shorts and a light t-shirt or linen top and pants. Alternatively, you can go for a v-neck t-shirt and linen trousers for a more elegant look. But, pack a light jacket to put on when the temperature drops in the evening. You can bring flip-flops or sandals for walking in the sand. The sand is perfect for going barefoot. 

How to pack for Mosque visits in Dubai?

The dress code at Mosques is pretty strict. Women should wear long pants or skirt along with long sleeved tops. You'll need to cover your hair entirely with a scarf in the true Dubai fashion. If the Mosque deems your attire inappropriate, they will lend you an 'abaya.'
