How you travel to Koh Lanta will depend primarily on where you are coming from, as well as whether you value convenience, cost, or speed the most. Surprisingly, considering its near vicinity to Phuket, which is among the most popular tourist islands in Thailand, Koh Lanta manages to maintain its reputation as being one of the nation's most tranquil islands.

Express Transfers

The Express Transfer, which takes one from Krabi Airport directly to Ko Lanta, utilises both a minivan as well as a speedboat. This is the quickest route that will take you here. The driver of the minivan will welcome you at the Arrival area, accompany you to the minivan that is air-conditioned, and then take you to a private speedboat dock. After that, you get to take a lovely speedboat journey to Ko Lanta for 15 minutes. You can avoid waiting in line for the auto ferry if you do this. A pick-up van will be ready to transport you from the dock to the hotel that you have reserved here at Ko Lanta. You can check out resorts in Krabi the likes of Avani+ Koh Lanta Krabi Resort if you're looking for a beachfront resort that is easy to reach.

Private Minivan Transportation, Suitable for Families

Your very own minivan, complete with air conditioning, will transport you from Krabi Airport directly to Ko Lanta as part of the Private Minivan Transport service. A one-time payment of 3,000 Thai Baht is required for the use of the minivan. Your party might consist of as many as six people if you rent a minivan for your transportation needs. Even if there are less than six individuals in your party, the cost is still 3,000 Thai Baht. Therefore, Private Minivan Transport is the best option for parties comprised of 4 or more passengers. It is highly recommended that you book the Express Transfer whether you are travelling alone or with a companion.

Ferry Rides

There are a number of ferries that depart daily towards Ko Lanta. Phang Nga Bay may be crossed in an enjoyable, and often, a time-consuming excursion that takes a few hours. Be aware that Thai ferries operate on "Thai local time," which means that timeliness is not a priority for them. You may also purchase a ticket that includes both the minivan and the ferry ride from Krabi Airport, which will take you to Ko Phi Phi. One could spend some time on Ko Phi Phi, then stay there for a night or two, and continue to Ko Lanta later. The travel time between the two islands is just one hour.

Taking a Mini Van to Ko Lanta (Public)

The Krabi Airport provides access to public minivans that go to Ko Lanta. You may purchase a ticket at the area designated upon your arrival. Before setting off, the minivan will wait till it has collected a sufficient number of passengers. It is not advisable to use the public minivan if you’re travelling with significant amounts of baggage or children since the space is sometimes highly congested and the temperature may rise quickly.

Buses are also an option!

There is also the option of taking a bus from places like Bangkok; timetables and fares may be shown on 12Go, which is also where you will be able to buy your tickets online. This ticket is good for both the bus and the boat. The trip usually takes between 12 to 15 hours and occurs over the course of one night.

Renting cars

If you are comfortable driving on the roads of Thailand, you have the option of booking a vehicle online and having it ready for collection when you arrive at the Krabi Airport.
