The USA. Do you fantasize about visiting there? You are not alone in this. Many people fantasize about visiting the United States for a variety of reasons. Some are looking for their American Dream, while others want to compare American films to reality.
When I was a kid, I had a crush on a Native American character in a book. That’s why, whenever I think of this part of the world, my heart beats faster, and I can almost hear the sound of hoofbeats and smell the smoke of a ceremonial pipe by the fire.
1. Decide where to go
The United States occupies one-third of a continent, making it one of the world’s largest countries. New York is on the other side of California and is at least 6 hours away by plane. There are also six time zones throughout the country. So, you should know where you intend to go to plan accordingly. This also makes the country more appealing to all. Mountains, valleys, caves, oceans, lakes, cities, villages, small towns, and farmlands can all be found. There is something in the United States for everyone, but you must be clear on the type of destination you seek.
2.Visa to the USA
If you need visa to travel to the US make sure to have it before booking anything. If you are Polish, check this post in Polish language for more information about visa procedures and a meeting with the consul. If you are not — make sure you follow visa procedures for your country.
3.Flights to the USA
There are numerous flights from Europe, Asia, and Canada to the United States, with varying prices. The cheapest flights are to the east coast, specifically New York and Chicago. It is more expensive to travel to the west coast. According to my observations, it is not worth waiting until the last minute; tickets are cheaper if purchased several months in advance.
You can get the cheapest ticket if you are flexible about the date, time, and location of your arrival or departure. If you want to buy the cheapest ticket, don’t just look for flights from your own country, but also nearby capitals.
You can find low-cost flights to the United States. Being familiar with the city you are visiting, and the nearest airport is critical. Some cities have two or three airports, so choose the one closest to or more accessible to your hotel. Bookaways has some of the best flight deals.
4.Means of transportation
You can take buses or trains if you want to travel between cities. Connections between major cities are efficient and reasonably priced. On the other hand, domestic flights are a popular but expensive mode of transportation (at least for my Polish budget:)).

Depending on the vehicle, you can rent a car for $30 to $100 daily. The longer the rental period, the less you will pay per day. For example, Adam and I paid 500 EUR for a 17-day car rental with insurance. Except that if you are under 25, the cost will be significantly higher. Rental companies charge an additional 20–30$ for young drivers, which is unavoidable.

When I needed to rent a car for myself while volunteering, I went to Discover Car Hire. Their search engine finds the best deals from various rental companies; the prices are reasonable, and the insurance is included.
5.Accomodation
You must choose your accommodation based on your budget. Below is a list of options ranging from free (or costing you time or cooking dinner:)) to the most expensive.
Prices of hostels vary depending on location. We paid almost the same price for a private room with two queen beds in a hostel in a smaller town of Monterey. Prices of budget hotels vary from 45 to 65$.
6.Attractions and Activity
The United States has incredible things to do and beautiful places to visit. When planning a trip to the United States, the sheer breadth and variety of areas to see and activities to participate in can be overwhelming. Was I a Model in Japan?
During my time in Nagoya I worked and lived at the strangely famous hostel and café Nagonoya. With its chequered floors and florescent lighting it felt quite dated, but I think that was supposed to be part of the charm. The dorms were always fully booked on weekends with domestic tourists and there was always a buzz in the downstairs café. Camera crews were constantly in and out of the place interviewing the Japanese staff members who worked the café. I think it had something to do with the egg sandwiches. At least that was what was on most of the merchandise, except for that one dishcloth with the owner’s face on it. Was I being employed by a local celebrity?
