Batu Ferringhi is a popular beach resort located on Penang Island, northwest of George Town. This area is well-known for its exciting water sports activities and delicious seafood restaurants. In addition, visitors can enjoy browsing through the seafront night market and purchase household goods, street food and traditional batik clothing. Things to do 

Malaysia is blessed with miles of exquisite coastline, stunning tropical islands and amazing scenery, and Batu Ferringhi is no exception. Various activities and amenities are waiting for you at this coastal paradise. Discover miles of tropical coastline, which are perfect for swimming, sunning, snorkelling and scuba diving. Jet skiing and jungle trekking are among the popular activities in store for you. The kids will love this place as it is perfect for children and adults alike. 

Visit Penang National Park for some incredible beaches! It is located just 7 km west of Batu Ferringhi and very few tourists visit this place so nature lovers are in for a treat. You will get to see a range of wildlife plus go on some fantastic hiking trails amid the lush jungles of Penang.

Located just near Batu Ferringhi is the Tropical Spice Garden where hundreds of spices are grown amidst a bounteous garden landscape, Over 500 types of spices are grown here and lovers of nature are bound to be enchanted by this place. It looks more like a miniature forest than a garden where visitors can spend several hours discovering this place.

Georgetown is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and the capital of Penang. Georgetown lies some 16 kilometres from Batu Ferringhi and will take around 60 minutes to get there. You can find quaint colonial-type architecture alongside charming pavements while the street art in Georgetown is among the city's most famous attractions. 

The food

Malaysian cuisine is one of the best in South East Asia and Batu Ferringhi is no different. Malaysian food is a diverse melting pot of cultures, from Peranakan and Indian to Chinese and Malay, there is something for everyone from rice dishes to noodles to Western fusion cuisine. To sample the best of local food head to Batu Ferringhi's night market. Here you can try some delicacies like Penang Assam Laksa, Rojak, Iphon Hor Fun, Hokkien Mee, Chendol and so much more. One of the best stalls worth checking out in the night market is Long Beach Kafe for various authentic Malaysian treats.

If you prefer a proper sit-down meal try Power Up and Enca Cafe. Andrew's Kampung is another well-known eatery specialising in Chinese fusion cuisine. To taste the deliciousness of Malaysian cuisine's overlooking the sea, head to Frandy's beach bar located in the city centre or Bora  Bora by Sunset. When you are craving something along the lines of Western food you can go to Ferringhi's Coffee Garden and Living Room Cafe.

When it comes to accomodation there are plenty of places to base your stay as you explore Batu Ferringhi. From star-class hotels to homestay there is something to fit every family's budget. Getting around 

Travelling in and around Penang Island is easy. RapidPenang bus is well connected to most of the attractions like Penang National Park and the Tropical Spice Garden. If you wish to travel away from the beaten path where there are no buses, download the app ''Grab'" it is similar to Uber and a very convenient way to get around Batu Ferringhi and Penang Island.
