Spooky season is here! October paints the picture in Sydney with brilliant purple blossoms of the Jacaranda, the epic buzz of Halloween and the brilliant musicals by trailblazing talents. If you're looking to get groove on this month no matter the day of the week, Sydney has some of the most fabulous, wicked and thrilling options in store for you.

Even if the rains are bucketing down, don’t let it stop you from enjoying these absolute must-do’s in and around the city centre.

Seize the weekend with a Party boat hire in Sydney

Alright I’ll keep it a buck with you, this isn’t something you oughta do in October, but in the same vein, it is something you can enjoy all year! A private party on a boat on the most spectacular harbour in the world? Sounds like something out of the life of Dan Bilzerian! Cruise the ever-showy harbour and glide past legendary architectures including the Opera House, Harbour Bridge, Luna Park and lots more, while having the time of your life on board! Customise your boat with food and drinks packages or opt for BYO if that’s how you roll! A boat party hire in Sydney will make all your wildest dreams come true! So don’t even think twice for this one!

Don your walking shoes

We’re no advocates of walking. Unless we’re talking about a riveting coastal walk along the Bondi to Tamarama trail, dotted with mesmerising art installations – then we’ll gladly put on our walking shoes! After two long years of hiatus due to the pandemic, Sculpture by the Sea is finally returning to inspire Sydneysiders with its stellar collection of sculptures and other artworks. The biggest of its kind, Sculpture by the Sea will bless the shores of Bondi for three weeks, starting from the 2st of October. The 24th edition of the festival is expected to be bigger and better than ever before, and will feature a sensational lineup of native and international artists.

Peek into a rare after-dark party

You probably know about the Hyde Park Barracks, but did you also know that the heritage-site also hosts a vogueish party on select Thursdays every two months? The fully-revamped museum offers an interesting insight into the colonial days of Sydney and there’s no better way to experience it than with After Dark. Once the sun fades away into the horizon, the party kicks off and the building transforms into a cultural hub with pop-up bars, music and sumptuous food offerings. With live music, eye-opening discussions, ideas and brilliant installations, the major focus will be on throwing light on the historic site in a contemporary fashion. Oh and did we mention the ticket also includes a free entry into the museum?!

Chaos Lab shenanigans

Time to get a bit chaotic! Chaos Lab is the ultimate all-family venue to indulge in a fun, interactive and super-immersive laboratory experience. This all-new event which kicked off in September, combines creativity, imagination and chaos! Expect live science experiments, graffiti walls, UV areas and a ball pit! The experience lasts for about an hour and will include a geeky-scientist and his assistants who will guide you across multiple fun-filled rooms to play, jump, create and most importantly have fun. It’s 60 minutes of unlimited fun for the whole family!

Halloween? We got you

Ever been to the Royal Botanic Gardens after dark? Well, now you can! Bring your own torch to this bone-chilling Ghostly Garden Tour, where you will creep past eerie grottos, stare at gloomy ponds along the shadowy tree-lined paths, and tip-toe your way through the spooky sounds of the garden’s nocturnal residents! Oh, and the guide will always keep you on your toes with dark tales of people long-dead!

Looks like Halloween plans are sorted!
