Are you ready for Vivid Sydney? This spectacular annual event attracts millions of visitors from all over the world. With so many people in one place, navigating the crowds can be a challenge. But fear not! From choosing the right time to visit to selecting the best vantage points, this guide will give you everything you need to know before you head to Vivid Sydney. So grab your camera and get ready to immerse yourself in the magic of this dazzling festival!

Choose Your Vantage Points

Look out for the best vantage points for an amazing spectator experience of Vivid Sydney. Like the Vivid dinner cruises, which offer you a spectacular dining experience with prime views of the Vivid lights. There is also the Sydney Harbour Bridge where you can simply stroll across it for views. Better still, make it adventurous by booking tickets for a Vivid Bridge Climb. The climb comes with an open air disco dance floor as well.

Say ‘No’ to Weekends

Weekends are the busiest times to experience Vivid Sydney. Yes, Saturday nights might seem exciting to step out but weeknights are quieter and the best time to visit and explore the city. Despite that, if you still want to head out on the weekends then late nights are the best option compared to prime family times. Even better, plan ahead for an early experience. The last week of Vivid Sydney is always the busiest so try to visit the festival prior to that.

Choose Public Transport

With limited parking, road closures and thronging crowds, public transport is the best option. There will be extra services throughout the festival for a hassle-free trip. You can use the bus, train or ferry whatever works best for you. You can use the NSW trip planner to get to your location or visit the Transport page on Vivid Sydney.com for more information. Taking an Uber or a taxi wouldn't be such a good idea. Considering the distance, your wallet will probably feel light.

Keep Your Kids In Check

It’s obvious that Vivid Sydney is a crowded event, so if you are tagging your kids along, make sure you are holding their hands tight. You can also head to the Vivid Sydney medical posts, fetch some wristbands for your kids with your phone number written on them. In case they get lost in the crowd, you can get reunited in no time. You can also introduce them to Vivid Sydney volunteers who can be easily spotted in their pink jackets.

Be an Early Bird

Get to the city early, this is the best way to get away from thronging crowds, even on the public transport. It makes it much hassle-free to get around The Rocks. Once you get there ahead in time, you can do a lot of fun stuff at The Rocks from shopping at the markets to exploring museums, art galleries and cafes. It’s better to eat early as all the food joints end up with long queues from 7pm. So, come in early, have a great time exploring The Rocks, have a meal down the water’s edge, find yourself a good spot and view the magnificent Vivid highlights.

These tips will help you enjoy the dazzling light displays, interactive installations, and live music performances without feeling overwhelmed. Whether you're a first-timer or a seasoned veteran, these insider tips and tricks will help you navigate the crowds and get the most out of this incredible event. So, get ready to be dazzled by the lights, inspired by the art, and entertained by the performances at Vivid Sydney.

I will be getting aboard one of the Vivid Lights cruises for the Vivid Sydney experience in 2023. Tell me your preferred vantage point this year, in the comments below.
