Welcome to Georgia! Located just north of the Sunshine State of Florida, Georgia has many unique places that many people should visit, according to National Geographic.

Rock City Gardens is the most popular attraction in all of Georgia, and it has nearly half of million tourists at its location every year. One of the greatest features of the Gardens is called "Lover's Leap," an extraordinary rock formation featuring rocks jutting out from the side of Lookout Mountain.

If you are a hiking activist, make sure to check out more locations throughout Georgia, such as the Blue Ridge Mountains, Providence Canyon, and Amicalola Falls.

The Chickamauga Battlefield is a historic landmark known throughout the United States. It covers more than 5,300 acres of land, and there are more than 50 miles of walking trails. It is a historic site because of its rich history under Abraham Lincoln's presidency. The Confederacy wished to claim the town of Chickamauga in order to help expand the railroad system that was currently taking shape near the Tennessee River.

Georgia plays a big part in the civil rights movement, and Atlanta is the birthplace of it. Atlanta is where Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. gave his "I Have a Dream" speech, and there are tours that allow you to walk in his footsteps throughout his journey that "the brotherhood of man will become a reality, in this day, in this faith."

Where should you explore next in Georgia? Wormsloe State Historic Site is known for its breathtaking oak trees in Savannah, and Savannah is one of the oldest cities in Georgia. If you are a fan of the hit TV show, "The Walking Dead," make a trip to Atlanta to see the Jackson Street Bridge.

If you appreciate the beautiful sights of white sand beaches and waves, visit Driftwood Beach on Jekyll Island, and the Tybee Island Lighthouse on Tybee Island. Driftwood Beach is known for its gnarled trees along its coastline, and the Tybee Island Lighthouse is the tallest and oldest active lighthouse in the state. You are able to climb to the top of the Lighthouse for a very beautiful view.

Georgia is also the birthplace of a few musical artists. Otis Redding is best known for his soul music, and his most successful song is "(Sittin' On) The Dock of the Day." James Brown is the 'hardest working man in show business' and 'the godfather of soul.' Johnny Mercer is known for writing over 1,500 songs in his lifetime, but he is best known for writing 'Moon River,' the theme song for the movie, "Breakfast at Tiffany's."

Georgia is a very diverse Southern state, whether it's based on the topography or the people living in it. If you are passionate about art and culture, visit Pasaquan in Buena Vista. It is home to seven acres of colorful folk art pieces that were created by Eddie Owns Martin. The best thing to take away from your experience here is: "Don't worry about the acceptance of your art. Just do it. Do it for yourself."

There is a Hindu temple located in Lilburn, GA, called BAPS Shri Swaminarayan Mandir. It is the largest temple outside of India, and they welcome people of all faiths and backgrounds. Another cultural landmark in Georgia is the Biblical History Center in LaGrange; it explores daily life in ancient times. The Center brings Middle Eastern learning to life with multiple hands-on experiences for people of all ages.
