Raisen city is the district headquarters Raisen District . The district is a part of Bhopal division. Raisen is one of the many small towns of Madhya Pradesh. Raisen was earlier known as Rajavasini or Rajasayana. This place has religious and historical importance.

Raisen Fort-

Raisen Fort is a historical site in Raisen district. This fort is spread over a large area and is built on a high hill. There are many places to visit in Raisen Fort. Here there are Old Court, Jhinjhari Mahal, Baradari, Other Dan, Dargah and Mosque, Dhobi Mahal and Dhobi Talav, Motia Talab, Rani Mahal, Badal Mahal and Madagan Talab. This fort is a major attraction of Raisen Madhya Pradesh. The amazing thing is that the fort has an excellent system of water management and conservation with 40 wells. This water was used by the people living in the palace throughout the year. The massive stone walls open out with nine gates and are topped by thirteen bastions.

Sanchi Raisen-

Sanchi is a major tourist attraction located in Raisen district. See the Buddhist Stupa at Sanchi. Three main Buddhist stupas are found here. All these three Buddhist Stupas are well made. The ruins of many other ancient buildings are also found here. Gupta period temples, Buddhist viharas are found here. The stupas of Sanchi are built on a high hill. Here you will get to see the first and third stupas in the main campus itself. The second stupa is located at a little distance from the main complex. There is a museum near Sanchi Stupa

Bhimbetika Raisen-

Bhimbaithaka is a tourist place located in Raisen district near Bhopal. Rock paintings are found in Bhimbaithaka. The rock paintings made by primitive man in Bhima Betika are very attractive. In ancient times, primitive humans used to live here. Weapons made by primitive humans and many other things have been found here. About 18 caves are found in the caves of Bhimbetka. Here in the caves one gets to see pictures of lions, elephants, people hunting, people dancing, people hunting boar. Bhimbetka caves are located inside the Ratapani Wildlife Sanctuary in Raisen.

Chhind wale hanuman ji-

Chhind Hanuman is situated at a distance of 6 km from Bareilly tehsil of Raisen district. Here Ram devotee Hanuman ji is also known as Chhind Wale Dada. Pratima of Hanuman ji is seated under a big tree in Chhind. It is said that every wish of the devotees is fulfilled at this place. Every Tuesday and Saturday there is a crowd of devotees in Chhind. Devotees from far and wide come here to ask for their wishes.

Jamgarh-

Jamdh in Bareilly tehsil of Raisen district is known as the shelter of Adi Manav. Many scholars believe that this historical Shiva temple is also of 5th, 6th century. Nearby is the Khajuraho style Shiva temple at Bhagdei. This temple is believed to be of Gurjara-Pratihara dynasty.

Bhojpur Temple Raisen-

Bhojpur temple is a famous temple in Raisen district. This temple is dedicated to Lord Shiva. World's biggest in Bhojpur temple One gets to see the Shivling. This Shivling is made of only one stone and is very huge. Bhojpur Shiv Temple is very beautiful. This temple is built on a high platform. There are also three small temples in front of the Bhojpur Shiva temple. This temple is also dedicated to Lord Shiva and the Shivling is enshrined in it.

Barna Dam Raisen-

Barna Dam is built in Bareli tehsil of Raisen district. This dam is built on the Barna river. This dam is very beautiful. This dam is spread over a very large area. When the water of the dam overflows during the rainy season, its gates are opened. There is also a viewpoint here, from where you can see the view spread far and wide, which is very attractive. A great time can be spent by coming here.

Butterfly Park & Aquarium Raisen-

Butterfly Park and Aquarium is one of the main places in Raisen district. Here you get to see butterflies and fishes. This place is situated in Gopalpur Van Mandal of Raisen. Here you get to see many attractive things. Different types of flowers and trees are planted here. Here you will come to know about many species of butterflies, because a lot of information about all of them has been given here. Apart from this, you can also see fishes here. You will get to see a small waterfall here. Will get to see the fountain. A dome is built here, where butterflies can be seen. Kids will love this place.

Kankali Devi Temple Raisen-

Kankali Devi Temple is a major religious temple of Raisen district. This temple is historical. A very attractive statue of Kankali Mata is found in this temple. In this statue, Kankali Mata's face is slightly tilted. There are many temples built here, where you can roam. You can also see them in the Prasad shop here. There is also a good place for parking here. Many people come here during Navratri.

Chowki Garh Fort Raisen-

Chowki Garh Fort is an ancient fort located in Raisen district. This fort is located in Bari tehsil of Raisen. This fort has completely turned into ruins. The fort is located inside the Raisen Sultanpur Wildlife Sanctuary. You can reach here by trekking. In this fort you get to see bastions, ancient walls and palaces. There is forest all around here.

Sri Keravana Dham Raisen-

Shri Keravana Dham is a major religious place in Raisen district. Here you get to see the temple of Shankar ji. This temple is known as Van Khandeshwar Mahadev Temple. Here one can see the meditation place of Keeravanya Rishi. This place is surrounded by forest from all sides. Kerbana Dham is near Jaitpur village. Here you get to see a small stream of water which flows 24 hours a day throughout the year. Mother Narmada ji appeared here on the call of sage Keeravanya. Here you can see Narmada Kund.

Ratapani Wildlife Sanctuary Raisen -

Ratapani Wildlife Sanctuary is spread over Raisen and Bhopal districts. Here you get to see many wild animals. Here you will get to see tiger, leopard. Sanctuary. Here you also get to see natural, historical and religious places. Here you get to see the beauty of nature. Along with this, wild animals are also available to see. There are many gates to enter Ratapani Wildlife Sanctuary through which you can enter and roam around this sanctuary. Here you get to see many species of birds and plants.

Amargarh Falls Raisen –

Amargarh Falls is a beautiful waterfall. This waterfall is situated in the middle of dense forests. One has to walk to reach this waterfall. This waterfall is located inside the Ratapani Wildlife Sanctuary. Here one can see a beautiful waterfall in the rainy season. Here the water falls down from the high rock, whose view is very attractive.

How to reach Raisen-

By Road-

Raisen is well connected by road to all major cities of the country. Regular buses ply from Raisen to Bhopal, Hoshangabad, Vidisha, Sehore.

By Train Route -

The nearest station is Bhopal at a distance of 47 kms from Raisen .

By Air Route -

The nearest Airport is Bhopal, at a distance of 55 kms from Raisen.
