A Night to Remember at Globe Life Field

With the unofficial end of summer drawing to a close soon, yours truly took yet another trip to Arlington, but this one was special. Once I've arrived, I reserved a motel room for two nights, even though the original plan was to stay for one and then return to Arkansas. The temperature down there was in the triple digits. I was already wearing my red Texas Rangers City Connect jersey and hat, since it was City Connect Night. I made my way to Globe Life Field, which was a little over two miles away. It took me at least an hour to arrive there but had to buy myself something to drink along the way. Despite me sweating like a pig, I made it inside GLF. There were plenty of Rangers fans in attendance and a small handful of Angels fans.

So, the picture used for this story was perfect. Back in February, I took part in a premium stadium tour of Globe Life Field, viewing a plethora of artifacts, including some from the Rangers 2023 World Series title run. We got to view everything except the World Series trophy. No explanation was given at the time, but I theorized that the organization wanted to protect it as much as possible. This past Friday, it was on display and I had the opportunity to pose right next to it. I counted this as a bucket list item achievement crossed off. I went upstairs to find my seat and was located in right field in front of the foul pole. Since it was City Connect Night, the Rangers Mariachi Band played during certain points of the game. Once the game started, I was 100% invested in it. MacKenzie Gore's performance was stellar but despite this, he earned a no-decision. The game went into extra innings. Thanks to an error from Angels Denzer Guzman, Wyatt Langford hit an RBI double, tying the game at one. He would go on to score the winning run. The final score was 2-1. I was so hyped up about the walk-off win that I high fived a couple of people in the row behind me. It was the first time I attended a City Connect Night game at Globe Life Field and also the first time I've witnessed a Rangers walk-off win.

I attended this game to celebrate 25 years as a Rangers fan. The Rangers game the next evening honored the 30th anniversary of the team clinching their first American League West title. I was unable to attend that game, but I wanted to enjoy a fun evening of watching my favorite team play. This was the second Rangers game I've attended overall and the first since I was 13. However, this was the very first game I've attended at Globe Life Field as an adult. I hope to attend more Rangers games in 2027, if there is a next season. One of my goals is to attend an Opening Day or Opening Weekend game. I am my own family. In other words, I can do any activities that makes me happy without any parental figure in my life. Finally, I want to thank Globe Life Field, the hard-working staff there, and fellow Rangers fans for making this both memorable and enjoyable for me. I now consider the Rangers fans as my new family. Win or lose, we'll always support our team. Don't tell anyone I've said this, but we're the best team in the American League West.
