Family is arguably the most precious thing to every one of us. And when it comes to our most precious things, we must strive to give them the very best. One way to do this is to make sure that your children are raised in an environment that is healthy and beneficial to their growth.

To do this, you might need to move from your current location to a community that is safer and has a relatively low cost of living. In 2022 and beyond, there are certain factors you must consider when choosing the best place to raise your kids. These include factors such as quality of life, crime rate, quality of education, outdoor activities, pollution index, housing cost, child care cost as well as other bills and necessities.

I have compiled a list of places across the world that offer you the best arrangement when these factors are brought into the picture. Let's dig in.

Sweden

Sweden is ranked first in childcare and overall cost of children. Each parent enjoys 480 days of paid parental leave, according to Sweden’s official website. It is also considered the best country to raise children because of its strong social policy. Parents get a monthly allowance from the government and are also given the right to reduce working hours until their children turn eight. Healthcare and higher education also come without any cost.

Denmark

Denmark’s parental leave system is rated as among the most generous and flexible in the European Union, according to Europa, the official website of the EU. Let’s give you a better picture of what this means. Danish parents get a total of 52 weeks of paid parental leave, and mothers are given four weeks of maternity leave before the expected due date. What’s more? Citizens enjoy a universal health care system where they receive mostly free medical care. Higher education also comes without a penny.

Australia

Australia is also greatly suited for raising children. The country offers quality health care, integration, and a better quality of life. Parents enjoy financial support from the government for up to 18 weeks. This is to help them take time off work to care for their new baby or recently adopted child.

Netherlands

The Netherlands offers children a healthy environment for their growth. This comes with proper education and childcare quality. Mothers are entitled to a maternity nurse, which is locally referred to as “Kraamzorg.” Parts or all of the cost for this service is covered by insurance. Also, employees have various means of taking statutory leave schemes in the country, according to the Netherlands Enterprise Agency.

Austria

In Austria, working parents can get access to a fully-paid two-year parental leave. Families also get to enjoy a monthly stipend for childcare expenses until the child turns 18. This stipend is known in local parlance as “kindergeld.” Kindergarteners go to school on a fee subsidized by the government.

New Zealand

New Zealand employs an effective and less competitive education system in order to raise healthy children and give them a more well-rounded upbringing. This nation in the southwestern Pacific Ocean is ranked among the top countries in the world when it comes to matters of health, integration, and overall quality of life.

Canada

Canada covers its employees with the Canada Labour Code in which they are entitled to up to 17 weeks of maternity leave. Both parents are also entitled to a combined period of parental leave for a newborn or newly adopted child of no more than 63 weeks. Parents get access to employment insurance if they meet certain requirements. Canadians are said to be among the most tolerant and polite people on the planet.

Switzerland

Switzerland is renowned for its attention to safety, education, and a healthy lifestyle. The Swiss education system is among the best on a global scale because children aren’t pressured to perform. When it comes to school quality, Switzerland is ranked among the top six in the world.

Singapore

Singapore is also another perfect place for child education. Education in this Asian country might be very expensive but, in some quarters, it is regarded as the best in the world. Parents are given a child and infant care subsidy so as to meet up with some costs of child care fees. It also ensures that parents can afford and get access to these child care services. Singapore also apparently boasts of a high level of safety, low crime rates, and a clampdown on drugs.
