Business trips don't have to be boring or exhausting, especially if you are about to visit Sydney. The Australian capital is famous all around the world for good reasons—it has everything, from incredible beaches and splendid sites to vivid nightlife and great cuisine. So, if you're planning your business trip to Sydney, here are a couple of things to have in mind so that you get the maximum out of your trip.

1. Business Visas

If you want to visit Australia for a short period of time, you definitely need to get a visa. You will have to acquire a business visa and the safest approach is to discuss it with an Australian visa office in your country. You need to know in advance the number of days you're planning to spend in the country. In some circumstances, you will get a 5-year valid visa, but it's not always the case. Keep in mind there will be a certain fee for your business visa.

2. WiFi

Be prepared for one thing once you land on SYD airport—the internet in Australia is slow. As you will be on a business trip, you will probably need your WiFi at all times, so it's better to be well-equipped. Buy a Telstra hotspot so that you are easily available wherever you are in the city. You can choose whether to buy a hotspot loaded with 3MB's or 10MB's of data. This hotspot also powers your laptop and your mobile phone, so it will be incredibly useful.

3. Transport from the Airport

Once you land on the SYD Airport, you'll be only 9km from the CBD (the city center). The fastest way to get to the center is by Airport Link train—it gets you to various stations around the CBD, where you will be connected to the rest of the city. The ride will take you about 20 minutes. Alternatively, you can catch a taxi or call an Uber but keep in mind they have low-cost but also pretty expensive services.

4. Getting Around the city

The public transportation in Sydney is really easy to use, as buses are running frequently. Buying an Opal card is the best option because you can load it for several-day use. You can also buy a single ticket every time you need to use public transport but it will cost you slightly more. On Sundays, public transport costs only $2.50 for the whole day.

5. Shop

If you enjoy shopping in your free time, then Sydney is the right city for you. It has an excellent offer for anybody's budget. You can wander big shopping centers or take a look at small specialty boutiques. The Sydney CBD is the place to go when it comes to shopping—it's unlikely that you won't manage to find what you need there.

6. The Area to Stay In

Accommodation in Sydney is also available for everybody's budget. If you can really indulge yourself, then look for popular Good Life suites for the full experience of this amazing city. However, even though Sydney is full of hotels with various star ratings, it still has an issue with the under-supply of rooms. So, you should really book your accommodation early so that you can have the room you want at a good price. The Sydney Harbor/ Circular Quay area is the number one is to go to if you want to enjoy wonderful views and be conveniently close to the city center.

7. Where to Enjoy Good Food and Views

Sydney is a perfect place to enjoy great cuisine, so here are a couple of recommendations:

  • Farmhouse Kings Cross is one of the best restaurants in the city, so you will have to book a table in advance. You'll enjoy the family style of the restaurant and its rich culinary offer. It is also a great place to take your client for lunch or dinner.
  • The Baxter Inn is a cool whiskey bar that will remind you of a saloon. It is located in the CBD and is perfect when you want to relax after a stressful meeting.
  • Altitude Restaurant is located in the Shangri La Hotel and provides you with a stunning view of the bridge and the Sydney Harbor. The restaurant has already won several awards thanks to its extraordinary cuisine and service, so it's a perfect place to mix business with pleasure.

8. Beaches

It's difficult to choose the best beach near the city when you have to choose between Bondi Beach and Manly Beach. They are both close to the Circular Quay and are filled with bars and restaurants. They both offer a splendid view of a long, sandy beach that stretches along the ocean. Whichever you choose, you won't be disappointed, so pick one and don't have any regrets but prepare for a great, sunny day.
