So things aren’t working out the way you’d planned them back in the States, Canada, UK or Down Under. And if you’re reading this, is most likely a frustrated western male or black man who recently got divorced and owe Alimony, an unfair legal family court settlement sent to the ex-wife/baby mama or loads of child support. Or maybe just a burned out dude whose been through too many toxic relationships and feel as though” all women must be like this” when in reality you most likely attracted stuck up people who were self absorb, greedy, egotistical, selfish and narcissistic where your needs didn’t matter.

Your life has been reduced to a crappy apartment with a small smart TV, a PlayStation game system,$3,000 to your name and a lingering thought of “why didn’t I see this coming”? while figuring out how your former wife/baby mama left you or cheated and slept with other men behind your back. Devastated by the outcome of your misfortune, you decided to seek help on the internet of what others before you have done to save money by minimizing any high cost living expenses. If the above scripted monologue resembles an awfully familiar reflection of the events playing out in your life right now, then just keep reading: anyhow…

Your savings and other sources of income is all being paid to her, crippling your ability to but by the skin of your teeth, take care of your finances or yourself.

So then you discovered reddit online communities who share the same bitterness and resentment as yourself suggesting for you to “go your own way” and to “Avoid marriage”because of being burned by family court laws and severe emotional trust issues which results you feeling unbelievable rage and anger. You don't want to go your own way or avoid marriage, you just need to around good people, a good community, maybe a whole different culture altogether.

But it only got worse before you discovered how it could get better.

In the mist of your income being sucked dry by your divorce or child support and your land lord sending you a notification to claims court for eviction, you desperately and frantically search on the web.

Reason 5: It’s simply more fun!

By Avel Chuklanov on Unsplash

You truly deserve to live in a country where everything you would’ve done in your home country, is 20x more fun and exciting to do in the Philippines. The beaches are funner, dating is much more relaxed and naturally flowing. Talking to a local women doesn’t make you feel like you’ll get sued or like you’re walking on eggshells not to offend her politically. Going to the bar is fun. Swimming and jumping near lakes and water falls feels adventurous.Bar hopping with some friendly locals and karaoke is an actual thing here more so than back at home. So many historical places to see from the colonial days and wacky things to see on a day to day basis. But you need to visit this beautiful place yourself to see what most say when they say ” it’s more fun in the Philippines” Because it’s true. With over 7,000 islands, you have a place where life begins when you get out of your house and explore your own backyard flavored with incredible people and exciting adventures and quest to explore.

oh and for a western man, you’ll never feel alone, someone will always keep you company due to the social structure of their culture where family stick together.

Reason 4: Everyone speaks English

With over 7,000 unique islands and provinces, and native dialect of over 170 different languages. The two official tongues in the Philippines is Tagalog and English. Even though people often use a combination of both English and Tagalog ( Tanglish), you’ll find it super easy to get around and speak to most locals without any type of language barriers. So go ahead and order your favorite type of food or more local cuisines without sweating a word of Tagalog,or Cebuano, or the 168 other localized dialects. You’ll find conversations with most folks in the Philippines to be simple and practical so if you’re the type who don’t like having complex and intelligent conversation , then you’ll love living here. Plus, unlike in most major cities back at home, it is not so hard to just talk to a stranger or local without being looked at as some creep.

Of course, select who you talk to carefully as in any foreign country, but once you establish your circle of trust in time, your new friends will welcome you with open arms and even invite you to luncheon and karaoke BBQ with their families. Most Filipinos are inclusive and once you realize that here, you’ll never question why you left the west and the toxic lovers behind.

Reason 3: The girls

One thing you’ll realize as soon as you get off the plane is just how beautiful the women here are. There’s a reason they’re renowned around the world and apart of global beauty pageants like the beautiful 2015 Miss Universe Pia Alonso! There’s something about the Pinay woman that warms most foreign men’s souls. They’re patients and dedication to loving their men is unmatched to the high divorce rates, cheating and trust issues most men and women in the west face in a relationship or marriage back home. It’s no wonder most western men travel to the Philippines each year travel to this stunning island to marry or have a bonding courtship with these incredible laid back women.

Whatever bitterness and resentment you had with your former relationship back home would be remedied here since western cultural social relationa issues isn’t really a thing here and there’s a bigger cultural involvement with family in the Philippines than the declining marriage and birthrate driven western countries. If you’re the type who want to refresh and a new start in relationship, love and eventually family, then a Filipina woman will satisfy those goals in your life if you want her to. Or you can choose to play the field. The choices here are plentiful for men who are used to women having all the dating and relationship options back home.

Reason 2: The Weather & Beaches

Some foreigners love The Philippines because of the 78-80 degree weather all year around. The beaches are incredibly beautiful and areas like Baracay beach in Cebu or Subic Bay in Bataan are legit best around the islands! Oh and let’s not forget Pagupud. You can be sure no matter where you’re going in The Philippines island, that the weather will always be nice most of the time( they do have rainy season and typhoons) however, it’s paradise for those who are used to colder climates and non coast locations.

You’ll be in a good most by embracing the sunshine and soaking in the vibes of good people and beaches.

Reason 1: The Cost of living

If you’re truly looking for a cost reducing way to live big under western standards, then The Philippines will be heaven for you. Apartments is twice as cheap as it would be in most US major cities. It’s super affordable to hire help or a maid to clean your house or a nanny to watch your children. Because it’s still a developing country, most services that would usually cost an arm and a leg just cost no less than $20 USD, like hiring a maid. Going out to most restaurants would cost you $5 or under whereas could cost you $40 or more in the west. Traveling by air in the Philippines is under $200 and traveling around other Asian countries would most likely cost you fraction of the cost that it would back at home. So visiting Thailand or Japan wouldn’t scratch your bank account.
