If you live in or around the Greater Cincinnati area, then you know about the magical place that is Northern Kentucky. But what about the rest of this mysterious part of our state? Well, we think it’s time for everyone to get acquainted with the Valley. After all, who doesn’t love a little mystery? The Valley is home to a variety of outdoor activities and attractions that are perfect for anyone looking to escape the hustle and bustle of Cincinnati and relax. From wineries and breweries to country clubs and golf courses, there’s so much more than meets the eye with this part of our state. Whether you are a first-time visitor or an old hand at exploring our backyard, here are 5 awesome things you should know about the Valley.

The Valley’s motto is “More Than a Place, A State of Mind”

The Valley’s motto reflects the attitude that has helped change the landscape and economy of this part of the state. When it was first settled, the Valley was a place that was primarily known for manufacturing, with major companies like Campbell’s Soup and Procter & Gamble locating their headquarters here. Today, though, the Valley is known for its vast array of attractions and outdoor activities. The Valley’s motto is a key part of the Valley’s identity and, we think, a great way to represent what makes it such a special place.

You might be surprised at how much wine is made in the Valley

Though the Valley is largely associated with beer, there’s actually a surprising amount of wine being produced here. If you’re looking to try a few wines from the area, we recommend visiting the West End Wine Center in Central Business District. It features dozens of wines from around the world, including a few from the Valley. If you want to learn more about wine in the Valley, you can also attend one of the many wine festivals happening throughout the year.

There are several great golf courses in the Valley, including Springdale and Turtle Creek

With the natural beauty and variety of the Valley’s topography, it’s no wonder there are so many great golf courses in the area. Turtle Creek, in the suburb of Batavia, is one of the Valley’s most renowned golf courses. With gorgeous views of the Great Miami River and Botanical Gardens, this course is a must-play for any golfer. The Springdale Golf Club, in the suburb of Springdale, is another great golf course in the area. With rolling hills and great views of the Miami River, this course is also highly rated.

There are two national parks in the Valley: Audubon and Wright-Craig Shorter Parks

The Valley is home to two national parks: Audubon and Wright-Craig Shorter Parks. Considering the Valley’s natural beauty and variety of outdoor activities, these parks are the perfect place to relax and enjoy nature. Audubon Park, in the suburb of Audubon, is home to the lovely Audubon Aquatic Gardens, a great place to go when you want to enjoy the water while you’re in the area. With more than 10 different hiking trails and many different flora and fauna species, Wright-Craig Shorter Park is the perfect place to go hiking if you’re in the area. With an elevation of 1,000 feet, this park features wide-open views and some of the best hiking in the state.

The final thing you should know about the Valley is that it has some of the best hiking trails around

With so many great golf courses, golfing opportunities, and hiking trails in the Valley, it’s no wonder that it’s one of the best places in the country to golf and hike.
