So you want to go camping or have a long road trip to complete. But you don't like the idea of bitterly cold weather, or the scorching hot sun. Maybe you want to or have to do it on a tight budget. Maybe can't stop at a petrol station every time you want a coffee or cold drink, either because there isn't one or simply your in an area where this stinking covid-19 virus is more prevalent. Either way, no matter the reason/s you have, there are certainly quite a few options you have. These days cars and equipment are amazing, the advancement of them are incredible and the cost of setting up is next to nothing.

So the best thing is to start with the basic's getting a fridge, kettle and of course a few travel containers for the tea, coffee, sugar and maybe hot chocolate mix and of course mugs or travel mugs. These are easily gotten at camping stores or better and cheaper yet, Good old eBay which is exactly where I personally start when I need to acquire a long list of slightly more expensive items. But if you can afford to get it locally or off a buy swap sell site and support your local business's and community in general would be ideal. Almost all appliances can came in 12 volt. The best advice though is to ensure that you get a good quality 12v power station which will run your 12v appliances including your mini A/C or heater. Some power stations, like the ones from goal zero, can charge and run some 24v appliances and a couple of them from goal zero can run your necessary appliances like your house fridge and freezer in the event that you have a power outage. So it can also serve you a dual purpose.

A full on set up will be at least $500 Australian dollars and a full on set up, with a power station/ bank that can run your house, partially could set you back as much as $6000 Australian dollars. But the investment could well and truly be worth it even more so, if you live in an area where the power goes out regularly, one place this happens all the time and for longer then ideal is a tiny town called Mullewa, western Australia. And it's certainly something that in the long run could save you a lot of money.

All your needs and creature comforts can now be taken with you, no matter where you go in this great country of ours. And actually be used, ran and charged. They can be used to set up one amazing back packer van, or grey nomad van. A true home away from home. It can be something that makes your life far more enjoyable and comfortable no matter the want or need to take a trip or living on the road. Also it can make it when you have to travel for work or even medical treatments, easier on you and your family.
