Kashmir has the second-highest ropeway in the world - Kongdori Gandola

Kashmir was once a lake

There are so many theories about Kashmir. It's believed that long ago Kashmir was a huge Lake known as 'Satissar' surrounded by mountains on all sides. There was no way for water to get out of there, but it's believed that due to a massive earthquake the tectonic plates displaced a much larger than normal. This led to the drift in the mountains of Kashmir and hence paying the path for water to get out of here. This led to the formation of a valley popularly known as Kashmir.

Kashmir has the largest Tulp garden in Asia. This Tulip garden is known as the 'Indira Gandhi Memorial Tulip Garden'. It's spread over an area of about 30 ha (74 acres). It has millions of Tulips in it with different colors. It blooms in April, but due to global warming this year, it will bloom by the 3rd week of March. One cannot miss this out.
