To the Woman Who Ever Felt Less Than Amazing

Honestly, when I started this article, I had no idea what I was going to write about. I just knew that it needed to be something inspirational. I’ve seen too many posts by women lately who are struggling or fighting against life.

I have even found myself in a rut the last few weeks, discouraged and wishing that someone would just help me. Inspiring words from others have been the only thing to help me slowly climb out of it, reminding me that I am not alone.

Here’s the thing: As a woman, life is tough. While we have come a long way from a hundred years ago, we still aren’t quite where we need to be. Our resumes don’t quite match the man’s that lays right next to ours. Our expectations from others are still demeaning and lack creativity. Our self-confidence never seems to quite reach its height because someone is always there to bring it down. And, our roles in life never quite seem to change.

We are discouraged by the routes we travel as a species. We are beaten down by those who sometimes seem the closest to us. We are viewed as weak, and because of that, we are taken advantage of more often than not. To get where we want to be, we are forced to compromise our values and feel less than worthy of the reward.

Thus, many of us find ourselves feeling less than amazing. Many of us lead the same life as the women who came before us because we don’t believe that we are special enough or strong enough to lead the life we dream of. Many of us find ourselves in situations we didn’t want to be in, either by force or fear. We feel as though we have reached our breaking points as if our life isn’t worth more than a penny.

But know this: WE are fighters. We were made for this. Our motherly instincts and fierce personalities give us the characteristics we need to make a difference, to take the steps toward change, and to prove that we are IT. We can and we will break the mold that holds us in place. We will provide future generations with the knowledge that they are amazing and worthy. We will stand tall for the weak, and we will be loud for the quiet.

We have made strides for women and still are making strides. With thanks given to the media, our voices are being heard. Our stories are being told. We are accomplishing everything that we have been fighting for all these years. People are aware of our struggles, of our realities, and that is our step to change.

For you, the woman who has ever felt less than amazing, know that you are worthy. You are beautiful. You are strong. You are amazing. Don’t ever let someone tell you otherwise. When life has you feeling lost and alone. Know that you are not. We, all women, are with you. We feel your pain. We feel your struggles. And, we know your reality. We stand with you and will continue to do so until you know your worth.

This life has nothing on you when you are surrounded by people who believe in you. Please remember that when you begin to feel that this life is too much for you, you are not alone. You are more than your battles and your struggles. You are a precious gift on this Earth, and you deserve to be treated as such.
