With years to live, we find cure. We manage to look away from the fear that haunts our soul, our hearts and questions our decisions. We keep living in denial. We keep loving in hope. We keep going with our duties to be and sometimes not to be. No one stops us from pretending and no one asks if we are okay. But, we are better than you, in many ways than just one. Along with the care we give, we also share with you a portion of trust and faith. The responsibilities are plenty, no matter how calm we may seem, it’s probably the ‘dramatic’ version of us that knows how to keep it all well in control for you to live in peace. We are the women who support you, guide you and inspire you to build a world of patience, peace and purpose.

I, with love and pride celebrate all the women. A lifetime isn’t enough to be grateful for the women in our lives, our mothers, grandmothers, sisters and friends. There have been talk shows and discussions, events and media coverage which focus on ‘women’ and ‘growth’. So, as a woman I’ll never leave an opportunity to appreciate and applaud womanhood. The laser beam of leadership must fall far to wake the world to admire the bounties which women can hold, sustain, grow and reap.

I wrote this poem as a clear representation of the power of womanhood.

LIKE AN EAGLE

FEAR AS ONCE I HAD TO FEEL

TO KNOW WHO I TRULY COULD BE

IT PUSHED ME THROUGH A TIME IN PAST

“WHY ME?” I THEN ASKED

YOUNG AND NAIVE TO BEAR THE STRESS

WOMEN LIKE ME WERE NOT A MESS

THEY LOOKED WITH POWER, CARE NO LESS

FOUGHT FOR FREEDOM TO FIND SUCCESS

FOUR OF THEM HELD ME HIGH

BLESSED ME WITH COURAGE ONLY TO FLY

FAITH AS I WAS POWERED WITH

WILFULNESS WAS NO LONGER A MYTH

I TURNED TO MANY TO KICK

THE SACK THE ONE THAT WAS HOLDING US ABACK

WISH TO SAY A WORD TO US?

WELL, WE DON’T HAVE TIME FOR ANY FUSS.

Let’s celebrate ourselves. The strongest of all lies within YOU. Your story can be her story too. So, stay true to what defines ‘you’ and then celebrate the essence of your choices, decisions, priorities and soul.

In life we come across many curves, many roadblocks and few opportunities and signs which guide us to realise what truly floats our boat, boat of life. Learning never stops and neither does the way towards finding your purpose. From medical studies to journalism and then international diplomacy and communication, I had a lot on my plate to choose from. My years in Australia taught me one

key detail about life- We all always have a choice, with everything. Our lives are literally like a ‘Netflix Interactive show/ movie.’ Click on the choice you’d like to follow. Life can become anything you’d want if you allow yourself to chase the light of purpose.

With my experience and qualification, I could have settled for a grandeur picture and displayed happiness while rotting in a rabbit hole of judgements and mental stress. Instead, I picked the world of words and thoughts. I positioned myself as the master of my own will. I launched ‘Budh Writes’. A safe place for my thoughts and your time. I discovered my purpose of sharing with the world the realities which the closed spaces part us from. The possibilities which our minds soaked in stress and fear seem to miss. I, write for those who want to listen, read and rejoice the time off work.

With so much on board, I still find myself hidden in a closed room, sipping coffee and passionately hitting the keyboard keys in the middle of the night. Away from the world. Writing in secrecy and silence.

A year or two ago, this wasn’t the plan for me. But accepting the change and having a hunch about following my passion, I could sense satisfaction and power. It was unreal. It was magical.

You already have a reason to celebrate yourself, it’s YOU.

The struggles women go through, the slow mental stress, emotional anxiety and continuous competition to find a place in the society, all can change if we set our minds to it and intentionally start prioritising our worth. There is nothing higher than attaining will power.

The strongest you’ll ever be is right now. Your stories matter and your presence can change the world. It was not an easy decision for me to start ‘BUDH WRITES’ but the woman behind me, my mother gave me the courage, support and love to say ‘yes’ to my dreams. If women start supporting other women, trust me, everyone will win!
