I Have Endo and I Have Questions
I often think about how many times a woman that looks like me has spent the majority of her years in inexplicable pain. How many times did she beg to stay home from school as a child during the first few days of her period? How often has she had to use her sick time to call out of work as the pain becomes increasingly unbearable with the start of each menstrual cycle? I sometimes imagine how hard it may have been for her to explain to her parents, or friends, or partner, that this is NOT something that a few Midol and a heating pad can remedy. I often think about how many women that look like me, went back and forth to the doctor for YEARS searching for answers and solutions, only to be disappointed and dismissed time and time again.

A Woman's Guide to Perimenopause
I recently turned 49 and thought to myself, wow how time has flown by. It really does just seem like yesterday that I was in my 20’s and raising my children. Now my children all are adults and this past September I became a grandma for the very first time. As much as I love my grandson and as much as I have been anticipating my children starting their own families, there has also been a certain level of personal anxiety with the changes going on in my life.

Choices
[ Trigger Warning TW - mentions of abortion, rape, & graphic imagery ] In a way, it's like the trolley problem. But instead, one track is where both the carrier & the fetus die, & the other is where just the fetus dies. Obviously, doctors won't go aborting fetuses near the end of a pregnancy. There are limitations to when a fetus can be aborted.

the very weird internet cult you've never heard of
The best and worst thing simultaneously about the internet is that everyone can have a say and anyone can build a platform, whether you're a makeup artist or a cake decorator or a doctor you have the ability to share your innermost thoughts and ideas with the world in a way that would have been impossible a mere 10 years ago. Whether you're sharing your creativity and making people laugh on youtube, using TikTok to catch a killer, or just Instagramming your lunch, you're part of the world’s largest and most connected communities and that’s a beautiful thing.

Breast Cancer
Cancer develops as a result of mutations, or abnormal changes, in the genes who are the growth regulators of cells. Breast cancer is cancer that develops due to uncontrolled growth of breast cells. Breast cancer either begins in the lobules, which are the milk-producing glands (lobular carcinoma), or the ducts, the pathways that carry milk from the lobules to the nipple (ductal carcinoma). Breast cancer can also occur in the stromal tissues, which include the fatty and fibrous connective tissues of the breast; however, it is less common. Most breast cancers begin in the ducts or lobules.
