Only Women Can Stop Sexual Assault

It's time to take action.

Sexual assault happens everywhere. The assaults happen in Hollywood, in government, in the workplace, on the street, in school, and in our homes. It has been televised and written about enough times in the media for this to be common sense. I think we can all agree, both men and women, sexual assault against women has gone too far and needs to stop. Women need to take action so these wrongly accused men will no longer be in danger of prosecution. A great number of them never actually go to jail or prison. But still, the mere possibility of going to jail must be stressful. And I know, as a woman, I would feel great shame in causing a man to rape me. So, how will men ever feel safe again, and how will women not feel shame ever again? I have a simple, easy proposal that should be put into action because time is up. Women must take responsibility and become educated on how to prevent sexual assault.

Women must learn how to verbally say "no" as well as many other ways to say "no" like the way we dress, act, people we associate with, and where we go. Firstly, women need to be trained to say "no" very firmly so the man knows you do not want to cause rape. But, there are many different men who all have unique minds and different personalities. It may take a variety of different ways to say “no.” Stand in front of a mirror and look yourself in the eye, say “no” persistently using different tones of voice. Try yelling, try screaming, try talking softly, sweetly, angrily, try crying, try being funny, try being apathetic, try showing “no” through your eyes. Even though saying “no” usually does not work, it does not hurt to practice and use it. One of the main reasons women are causing rape is the way we dress and make ourselves attractive. The great actress Angela Lansbury once said, “Women, since time immemorial, have gone out of their way to make themselves attractive… we can’t make ourselves look as attractive as possible without being knocked down and raped." So, we must stop being attractive. From now on, women must never wear makeup, never wear revealing clothing, and never wear heels. Just do not wear anything attractive. Open your closet ladies, find all of your shirts, skirts, shorts, dresses, and heels, throw them in the trash. Then, take all of your makeup and throw that out too. Once your life is free from attractiveness, go to the store and buy turtlenecks, baggy jeans, baggy sweatshirts, and sweatpants. You will actually save a lot of money, but more importantly you will be less likely to cause rape. Start wearing these clothes all the time, we always need to be prepared.

Along with those two rules to live by, there are a few more that are necessary if you are to prevent rape. Seven out of ten rapes were caused by women with people they knew. So get rid of all your male friends, boyfriends, and even spouses. This will make the chance of causing rape less likely. But there is still that 30% chance, so when you see a man walking down the street, turn and run the other way. Even if it is in broad daylight, run away, far away. These poor men have no control when they see a woman, and they get blamed. It is just not right.

Take it from the point of view of a revered all American Texan man, former President George H.W. Bush who really knows how to treat a lady, “[I] patted women's rears in what [I] intended to be a good-natured manner." President Bush did not lose all of his control but he did act like a gentleman by groping her, and he got accused. Who would think of accusing someone so respected, humble, and powerful as the President of the United States? We must remember that boys will be boys, they have no control, it is our fault. If you follow these steps women, you will no longer have to sit through meaningless court trials that never go anywhere. You will find yourself locked away in your house, away from any human contact, afraid to go anywhere, and afraid to love. Let men live their lives freely, doing whatever they please. But you will be keeping them safe, and you will be safe. Not happy, never seeing the light of day again, and being scared constantly. But the most important thing is you are keeping men safe, and you will no longer have to live with the shame of causing a sexual assault.

This idea came to me when I was walking my dogs. I thought to myself, “What is the solution?” and it came to me. I realized how utterly simple it was, and I needed to tell the world the answer. There have been other suggestions to this problem, in an article from The Guardian it suggests men should take responsibility for sexual assault, that it is their fault. However, this suggestion is so preposterous. How could men ever take on this burden. If that happened, maybe women would not have to live in fear anymore. Little girls would not grow up with the idea that all men are bad. Perpetrators would actually go to prison and stay there for the right amount of time. Sexual assault would not happen everywhere. It would no longer be common. If men take responsibility, they would realise time is up. But that is not the correct solution. My proposal is the correct solution. I have never been sexually assaulted, so I have never felt the shame. But I am sure it is an unbearable feeling. So please ladies. Follow my steps to live a better life. But more importantly, a better life for men.
