Do the stars impact Halsey's artistry? it's more likely than you think!

Ashley Nicolette Frangipane, otherwise known as Halsey, was born on September 29th, 1994, making her a Libra Sun and a Cancer Moon. I think her birth chart correlates strongly with her undeniable star-quality and brilliant artistry.

As a disclaimer, I am not a professional. I am simply a Halsey fan and a follower of the stars. Delving into how astrology impacts our lives mesmerizes me just as much as listening to one of Halsey's less mainstream songs, like "Is There Somewhere You Could Meet Me," or "Control."

Let's dive right into the "Is There Somewhere because I think it highlights her Libra qualities. The melody and the lyrics are both enchanting and haunting, a theme that arises in her music very often. She sings of unrequited love and the romantic allure of hotel rooms.

Halsey pulls us into this world with lines like "But your lips hang heavy underneath me, and I promised myself I wouldn't let you complete me," and then brings us right into our feels with the dreamy lines "I'm sorry, but I fell in love tonight, I didn’t mean to fall in love tonight. Can we pretend that we’re in love?”

Libras truly thrive in environments that are cozy and aesthetically pleasing, so the hotel room imagery fits in perfectly here. Libras can also be very charismatic; they crave being around people, indulge in fantasies, and tend to be hopelessly romantic. You can feel all of these aspects in the song, which feels like a movie playing in her mind.

Lyrics like "white sheets, bright lights, crooked teeth, and the nightlife," show that she is interested in the visual aspects of romance and the atmospheres where she's most comfortable. The entire song is somewhat of a fantasy, as the person she's singing about already has a significant other, but she insists on holding on tight, singing, "could we pretend that we're in love?"

It seems that the water signs in her chart also play a significant role in her song-writing. As a fellow cancer moon, I feel this the most in her relatively recent hit "Without Me." Even Halsey admitted that this song was her most vulnerable, and I'm so glad she went for it.

"Without Me," is one of those songs that can be interpreted many different ways. It's heartbreaking for some, but empowering for others. Halsey expresses her frustration with putting someone before herself, but not receiving the same energy back. Yet, she recognizes her value in relationships as she ponders how that person thought they could survive without her presence and love.

For me, this is the cancer moon anthem. We have maternal instincts and often put our loved one's needs before our own, which often becomes self-destructive. And when we do get hurt, it feels like being lost in a hurricane of emotions, Halsey pun intended. The positive thing about cancer moons, though, is that we can quickly transmute this pain if we channel it into art, more specifically performance. This is precisely what she does with her music, her choreography, her music videos, and even her paintings.

Halsey has proven herself to be quite an iconic artist in several ways. She captivates us with her lyrics, melodies, and performances. She tells vivid stories with her music videos and concept albums, and she makes us all feel valid by talking openly about her racial and sexual identity and struggles with endometriosis and bipolar disorder. I have only seen her live once, and I would love to meet her one day. I know that when I do, I will feel right at home.
