Demonstrations of solidarity with Ukraine and against Russian intervention have multiplied in recent days around the world, joining thousands of people in protest parades in various cities on various continents, with anti-war posters and many pictures of Vladimir Putin caricatured. of Hitler. Anti-war rallies erupted in more than 50 towns across Russia, with the greatest rally taking place in Moscow, pushing the Russian government to interfere.

A portrait that may be found in cities across the world, including Spain, France, Italy, Canada, and Brazil. Thousands of residents came to the streets in Geneva, with police data indicating that about a thousand assembled in front of the UN headquarters, demanding tougher sanctions against Moscow. Thousands of protestors have been detained, according to international organizations.

They are images depicting women, the majority of whom are extremely young, clothed in military outfits, and wielding guns.

They've been done up, combed, and appear to be models for fashion editorials.

The girls in question are either female officers in the Ukrainian army (which has roughly 15% female soldiers) or civilians who have decided to take up arms to defend their nation. The Ukraine model shared a selfie of herself with a gun in her hand on Instagram, announcing that she was entering the fight.

The warriors often upload gorgeous photographs

Katiucha, one of them, recently shared a video that received nearly 100,000 likes. She dressed like a model and posed in military gear in a space. A military jeep and people with weapons could be seen in the background. She also does dances while dressed in costume. I'm not implying that they're incorrect. They are extremely young girls who are caught in the middle of a war.

The issue is how we employ these images. After all, war is not glamorous, but it is filled with sorrow. Everything becomes much more complicated in a sexist society like the one we live in. Girls have already been repurposed as sex icons. On porn sites, the search for Ukrainian women carrying guns is increasing. And there are comments like "Wow, they ought to issue a calendar this year with solely the Ukrainian fighters" on the posts with photographs of the gorgeous girls (all tragically young). That is, they want to turn females into calendar girls right now...

And, once again, they are at odds. There's nothing glitzy about it. They're even on the verge of passing away. Many think that these images are necessary to demonstrate that women are strong and capable soldiers. I've never had any qualms about how strong we are or how hard we fight every day. And, of course, they are courageous.

Isn't it tragic, though, that girls so young (and men, too) must pick up arms and risk dying in a war?

By the way, the government backs this glamourization...

The Ukrainian Defense Ministry has come under fire after releasing images of army women marching in high-heeled shoes. The scene, according to opposition politicians, demonstrates misogyny and sexualizes the military.

The photos were taken in Kyiv, Ukraine's capital, during rehearsals for the country's 30th-anniversary parade following the Soviet Union's disintegration.

The ministry decided, according to ruling deputy Marina Bardina, to seek to achieve equality in the armed services and to support women in the military.

Olena Kondratyuk, another legislator, demanded that the Ukrainian government look into who decided to switch from boots to high heels and publicly apologize for "humiliating" these women. Defense Minister Andriy Taran announced a day after the images were released that the military would not be obliged to march in heels on parade day.
