I'm Proud of You

Dear Empress,

In case no one has told you lately, I’m so fucking proud of you! Look at you, Empress. Putting yourself first for once. Putting in the time for self care, taking care of your body and your mind. Learning how to construct boundaries after so many years of people pleasing and actually enforcing them. Finally realizing your worth and expecting others to act accordingly. Refusing to settle for the bare minimum. That's a long road from where you have started.

I understand how difficult this journey has been for you, believe me. Don’t judge yourself for how long it has taken you to get here. Regardless of the time, you are still here. Many people could not have traveled down this road you have traveled. Some have tried and failed. But not you! You have remained consistent. Each time you have felt like giving up, you kept going. You underestimate how powerful just getting back up truly is.

Beautiful girl, you may not think so, but from the outside looking in, you’re soaring! I see you! I truly do. I know people have said these words to you but actions have fallen flat, haven’t they? Many have claimed they have seen you, but the truth is you remained translucent to them. They could never see that you are much too full of depth to be something to look right through. But I see you! I see all the work you have been putting in. Others see how breathtaking your smile is, not knowing how many tears it has taken to finally be this happy.

If you would just take a moment to look back at the road you have traveled down. You may not be where you want to be just yet but we never really are, are we? That’s all a part of the journey, darling. Our drive to keep pushing can not be tamed by the satisfaction of what we currently are. We fight to keep going, always trying to get a little bit further, never really looking at this moment we are in. I’d really like you to do that now.

Just for a second, take it all in. Take a look at all you have overcome and all the hurdles you had to jump. The rivers you have crossed, the mountains you climbed, the valleys you traveled through. Let’s be honest, have you even imagined that you would have made it this far? Can you truly see all that you have accomplished? That little world you have built around you. It may not be as grand as the planet revolving next door, but it’s yours. Its continuously growing and thriving, and its fucking beautiful.

Wonderful woman, if you could go back to the girl who made her first step on this path, you would see how many times you have come out from beneath the ashes. More vibrant, more beautiful, and more alive than the Phoenix you were before. If you could see the magnificent sight of your rebirth over and over you would see how much of a masterpiece you have become. Believe it, dear Goddess, because it’s true. More true than you ever give yourself credit for.

I wish you could see yourself as I see you now. Strong, experienced, knowledgeable beyond your years, and perfectly whole just the way you are. A warrior with the most beautiful of armor. How magnificent it looks on you. I hope you wear it proudly, because you deserve to be admired for all that you are, all that you have been and everything you are still becoming. A sight to be seen and a Queen to be praised.
