Women honored for excellent work

Raipur / Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel has given a big gift to the women of the state on International Women's Day.

She launched the Kaushalya Matritva Yojana by providing checks of Rs.05-05 thousand to five beneficiaries for safe motherhood at the state level women's conference held at BTI Ground in the capital Raipur today.

Under this scheme, there is a provision to give one-time assistance of Rs 5000 to women beneficiaries on the birth of second daughter. The scheme will help in the upbringing and education of the girl child.

While congratulating and wishing all the sisters, daughters and mothers of the state on International Women's Day, Chief Minister Shri Baghel said that women have always held a high position in the culture of Chhattisgarh.

Here, despite the better position of women in the society, they were lagging behind men in terms of economic participation. In Chhattisgarh, there is no dearth of ability, capability and the zeal to move forward.

The work we have done with determination to provide rights and justice to women is in front of everyone. This power of women can be seen in the female shanty.

Today women are preparing various materials including vermi compost from cow dung in Gauthans. Like big industrialists, now the women of Chhattisgarh will prepare paint, electricity from cow dung.

Along with generating electricity, women will also earn money by selling electricity. Gauthan is being developed in the form of Rural Industrial Park in Chhattisgarh, in which work is being given to all the sisters and daughters.

Mr. Baghel said that on the occasion of Teeja-Pora, the State Government has also waived the loan of Rs.13 crore of self-help groups and doubled their loan limit from Mahila Kosh.

Chief Minister Shri Baghel felicitated Anganwadi workers, who have done excellent work in Anganwadi services, self-help groups making women financially self-reliant by taking benefit of Chhattisgarh Mahila Kosh schemes, at the state level women's conference.

Similarly, he also honored officers doing excellent work in the direction of women protection under Sakhi One Stop Center and Nava Bihan Yojana.

He also released Kanya Vivah Yojana Coffee Table Book, Sakhi One Stop Center Telephone Directory and brochures of schemes related to women empowerment on the occasion.

Chief Minister Shri Baghel also visited the stalls of exhibition of products prepared by women self-help groups from all over the state in the four-day state level Mahila Madai organized at BTI Ground on the occasion of International Women's Day.

From the stalls of women's groups of Bastar, the Chief Minister bought the art work made of bell metal and doubled the enthusiasm of the women by playing the trumpet.

In the program, the Women and Child Development Minister said that Kaushalya Matritva Yojana started by Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel would prove helpful in nurturing daughters along with their education.

He said that a large number of women are coming forward in Chhattisgarh through women's groups. Today, through women's groups, the name of Chhattisgarh is being recognized in the country and abroad.

These groups have been given the opportunity of selling their goods in the women's shanty. This will lead to exchange of experiences and better market for their products.

He exhorted the women for drug-de-addiction in the state and inspired them to build a better society and preserve the traditions.

On this occasion Urban Administration Minister Dr. Shiv Kumar Dahria, Rajya Sabha MP Smt. Chhaya Verma, Chairperson of Chhattisgarh Child Protection Commission Smt. Tejkunwar Netam, MLAs Smt. Anita Yogendra Sharma, Ms. Shakuntala Sahu, Smt. Sangeeta Sinha, Smt. Laxmi Dhruva, District Panchayat of Raipur. President Smt. Domeshwari Sahu, officials of urban and panchayati raj institutions and a large number of women were present.
