Hard to believe that it has been two years since AEW Dynamite premiered on TNT! After debuting via pay-per-views, All Elite Wrestling debuted its flagship show, Dynamite, on October 2, 2019, and (with the exception of preemptions caused by TNT's NBA playoff coverage) it has aired every Wednesday since then. However, on the latest edition of Dynamite, Tony Schiavone announced that Dynamite would be moving to TBS beginning on the first Wednesday of 2022. The move to TBS is due to TNT's NHL coverage, as this season will kick off Turner Sports' current contract with the NHL.

In addition to that news, it was also announced during this two-year anniversary special, a new championship will be added, with AEW head referee Aubrey Edwards presenting the brand new TBS Championship. The new title will serve as the secondary championship for AEW's women's division, and it was also announced that a tournament will take place to crown the first ever TBS Champion. Instantly, we saw brief segments featuring Ruby Soho, Thunder Rosa, Skye Blue, and Jade Cargill each making bids to become champion, while AEW Women's World Champion Britt Baker (along with evil cohorts Rebel and Jamie Hayter) boasted that the new title gave the other women something to fight for instead of (in her words) continue their obsession with Britt and her title.

Once again, AEW continues to make waves regarding their women's division. The addition of the TBS Championship (which was rumored about a week or so ago) is the latest example of how AEW immensely values their female talent. I am so excited for this, and I can't wait to see this tournament. I won't even try to predict who wins; the predictable choice is either Jade Cargill or Thunder Rosa, though we could see an absolute wild card take the whole thing.

A sinister Serena Deeb looks down on Hikaru Shida

Elsewhere in AEW's women's division, we were treated to an amazing match between two phenomenal talents: Hikaru Shida and Serena Deeb. This match was made on the previous week's Dynamite, and for Shida, she was looking to make history once again. She is already in the record books as the longest reigning AEW Women's World Champion in the company's brief history, as she led the way during the tough months of the COVID-19 pandemic. For Shida, she was looking to become the first woman to win 50 AEW matches; however, Serena was looking to avoid becoming a statistic, and after a hard-fought match, Serena ended up winning, leaving Shida at 49 wins.

It didn't end there. The aftermath saw Serena pick up the 50 wins trophy and strike Shida's head with it, turning Serena heel in the process. In actuality, Serena's heel turn had been teased for a while; I had seen her display a bit of a villainous persona in recent NWA appearances, and her video promos during her injury hiatus have seen her in heel mode. Serena is an amazing heel when given the chance; I still fondly remember her time in Shine Wrestling, where she served as the evil leader of Valkyrie, which was the promotion's top faction at the time. I expect both Serena and Shida to be part of the TBS Championship tournament.

How long until Paige Vanzant competes in the squared circle?

I can't take it anymore, I just can't. I pride myself in my calm demeanor, my ability to not get overly excited, but I just can't do it anymore! I absolutely, positively love that Paige Vanzant has been appearing on AEW as of late! And she's a heel at that, which--honestly--doesn't surprise me; she has the look of an evil and lethal bad-ass. I remember reading some time ago that Paige had a desire to be in WWE, and I had been waiting for that, but then I see her in AEW and I was just over the moon. Paige first appeared as one of two UFC women as part of American Top Team, during Dan Lambert's budding rants and feud with the Inner Circle; the other woman was Kayla Harrison. However, Paige's last two appearances have seen her as the sole female representative, and we even saw her deliver punches to Chris Jericho.

In her latest appearance, the evil Paige cheered on as TNT Champion Sammy Guevara was being mugged by her cohorts, only for Jericho and Jake Hager to run them off. Paige has been an amazing villainess so far, and that's an understatement. However, I only have just one tiny request: she should have her own female faction of ultimate fighters. Actually, Paige should be the evil leader; I could see her going after someone like, oh let's say, Thunder Rosa, with Kayla and (hopefully) Amanda Nunes as Paige's evil henchwomen. It would be absolute gold, but for now, I will continue to enjoy Paige's appearances on AEW.
