The games that are considered for National Players of the Week range from Dec. 4 - Dec. 10.

Dana Evans - Louisville - Senior - Guard

The little town of Gary, Indiana has cranked out its share of stars. Michael and Janet Jackson, Deniece Williams and Freddie Gibbs are a all from Gary. The latest star is a 5-6 guard who plays for Louisville.

Dana Evans is giving opponents the business so far this season with an average of 21 points per game after five contests. In an 85-67 win over Tennessee Martin, Dec. 6, she poured in 26 points in 27 minutes. Evans canned four out of nine threes as well.

Evans and the second ranked Louisville Cardinals took on Duke where they won 73-49. The guard from Gary led all players with 24 points as well as three steals. She leads her team in scoring, assists (4.6) and steals (1.8).

Alexis Johnson - Marshall - Sophomore - Forward

While Marshall split its first two games, its most most consistent player came off of the bench. Alexis Johnson shot 60 percent overall from the field, 50 percent from three-point territory, while averaging 14 points and 6.5 rebounds per game.

Against ninth ranked Kentucky, Johnson shot 6-9 and scored 16 points while snatching three steals from the victorious Wildcats. Her team only shot 3-20 that night from three, but she connected on both of her attempts from long range. Though she is coming off of the bench, her playing time has increased significantly. Last season she averaged six minutes per contest, this season she has averaged 23 minutes in the first two contests.

Natasha Mack - Oklahoma State - Senior - Forward

On Dec. 5, Natasha Mack led Oklahoma State (3-1) in a narrow 76-72 loss to Alabama. She shot 11-21 with a team best 22 points. Mack also led the Cowgirls with nine rebounds, three blocks and two steals.

Mack led her team to victory shortly afterwards with a 75-63 win over SMU. After flirting with a double-double in three previous games, Mack finally pulled it off with 18 points and 11 rebounds. In this game she dominated on the defensive end registering six blocks and two steals.

Mack leads Oklahoma State in rebounds (9.3) and blocks (3.3). She is second in scoring (14.0) and third in steals (1.3).

Tierra Hodges - Furman - Senior - Guard/Forward

This 5-9 rebounding dynamo is picking up where she left off during the 2019-20 season. Hodges averaged 10.4 rebounds per game last season. This time around she has grabbed at least 12 rebounds in each contest.

In a 78-59 loss to Georgia State, nobody was busier than Hodges. She posted a season best 23 points and 14 rebounds for Furman. After the team's first three games she is averaging a squad best 16 points and 14.3 rebounds. Hodges rebounding average is currently tied for second in the nation. She's also added the three-point shot to her arsenal. After not attempting a three her first three seasons she has knocked down four-of-11 threes, at 36 percent.

Amber Ramirez - Arkansas - Senior - Guard

A native of San Antonio, Amber Ramirez is one of the best three-point shooters in the nation. In her last two games she knocked down eight-of-17 three-point attempts, good for 47 percent. In an upset victory over the fourth ranked Baylor, Ramirez canned two-of-three, triples on seven-of-14 shooting overall. She also knocked down seven-of-eight free-throws. She led the Razorbacks with 23 points, which is her current season high.

Ramirez followed that up by once more leading Arkansas in scoring against SMU. She connected on six-of-14 three-point shots to score 18 points. Ramirez is fourth on the team in scoring (13.3). Her 19 made three-pointers are fifth most in the country.
