National Players of the Week

The games that are considered for National Players of the Week range from Feb. 12 - Feb. 18.

Jasmine Walker - Alabama - Senior - Forward

Montgomery, Alabama's own Jasmine Walker is having a strong senior season. The 6-3 forward is averaging 20.8 points and 10.2 rebounds per game. She had her best game of the season, Feb. 14 against rival Auburn. Walker scored 41 points and yanked down 15 rebounds. She was on fire, nailing 14-of-23 attempts, including seven-of-13 from three-point land. Walker was also a perfect six-for-six from the charity stripe. Alabama won that game on the road 92-78.

On Feb. 18 she and her squad travelled to Florida to win 77-70. Walker scored 22 points, making eight-of-12 shots. That night she made three-of-six threes.

Ayoka Lee - Kansas State - Sophomore - Center

Kansas State has had its share of struggles but its leading lady Ayoka Lee is having an amazing year individually. She is averaging 19.6 points and 8.5 rebounds per contest. She has had seven straight games with 19 or more points. On Feb. 13 in a win over Kansas, she scored 28 points and grabbed 16 boards, while blocking seven shots to go with three steals. She followed that with a 27-point effort against a tough Oklahoma State squad. Lee made 12-of-19 shot attempts, giving her three straight games with 10 or more makes from the field. She has had eight games with 20 or more points this season and has shot over 50 percent on each occasion.

Oshlynn Brown - Ball State - Senior - Forward

The Mid American Conference has gotten a bunch of great performances this season. Over the past week Oshlynn Brown took centerstage with a couple of powerful double-doubles for Ball State. The 6-1 senior forward had a 28-point game in a road win over Miami (OH), Feb. 13. She made 11-of-16 shots and also grabbed 10 rebounds. On Feb. 17, she led her team to victory past Buffalo with another double-double. Despite struggling from the field, shooting two-for-seven, she scored 15 points, making 11-of-14 free-throws. She also collected 13 rebounds, giving her a double-double for the 10th time this season.

The Chillicothe, Ohio native is averaging 18.4 points and 11.7 rebounds this season.

Natasha Mack - Oklahoma State - Senior - Forward

The greatness of Natasha Mack goes on and on. Arguably the best power forward in the nation, Mack led her team to a couple of victories, while filling the basket on a high level. She scored 25 points, grabbed 11 rebounds with four blocks and three steals in a win over TCU on Feb. 13. Four nights later she punished Kansas State with 24 points, 17 rebounds, four blocks and two steals. For the season Mack is the nation's top shot blocker with 4.1 rejections per game. She is also third in the nation in rebounding at 12.5 boards per contest.

Her 19.7 points per game is tops on her team as she has scored at least 19 points on 13 occasions this season.

Arella Guirantes - Rutgers - Senior - Guard

After averaging 20 points per game last year, Arella Guirantes is doing even better with an average of 22 points during her final collegiate season. In a win over Purdue on Valentine's Day she scored 30 points and blocked a season best five shots. The 5-11 guard followed that with a 22-point, seven assist outburst in a victory over Minnesota. Guirantes has had three games with at least 30 points this season. She is 15th in the nation in scoring. Along with being a high scorer she is also averaging 5.8 rebounds and 5.5 assists per game.
