The upset that everyone loves during March Madness took place when Wright State ousted Arkansas from the NCAA Tournament, March 22.

The first round match-up seemed to favor Arkansas but when the tip-off began, Wright State, a Horizon League program, dominated its SEC opponent. Guard Angel Baker had 26 points, 12 rebounds and four steals in the win for Wright State. She was a perfect three-of-three from three-point land. The five-foot-eight junior from Indianapolis registered a season high in rebounds, while matching her season best in steals. It was also her sixth straight game with at least 23 points.

Wright State finished the first quarter with a 20-12 lead before having a 38-26 lead at the half. The Raiders got 13 points from guard Emani Jefferson who also pulled down six boards. Wright State outrebounded Arkansas 44-30.

Arkansas' Chelsea Dungee scored 27 points, making 14-of-18 free-throws. Despite a lopsided free-throw margin that favored Arkansas who hit 21-of-28 compared to Wright State's 10-of-15, the Raiders pushed through and held the Razorbacks off in the second half. An important key on defense was to slow down Arkansas three-point specialist Amber Ramirez, who made 45 percent of her triples during the season. In the loss to Wright State, she shot two-of-nine from three, amounting to just 22 percent.

Iowa State 79, Michigan State 75

The Cyclones of Iowa State got 33 points and nine rebounds from Ashley Joens in a narrow win over Michigan State.

Joens has scored over 20 points in nine straight games since Feb. 9. She has had seven games with 30 points or more this season. The six-foot junior took 22 of Iowa State's 57 shots, with 10 of the team's 25 makes. Madison Wise came off of the bench for Iowa State to hit five-of-seven shots scoring 13 points and snagging 11 boards. Iowa State also got double figures in scoring from forward Kristin Scott (12) and guard Lexi Donarski (10).

Nia Clouden led Michigan State in scoring with 16 points. The five-foot-eight junior guard had two previous games where she scored 30 and 24 points respectively in the Big Ten Tournament. Last night's game was the first time that she took less than 10 shots since Jan. 28. That was a stretch of 11 games. Michigan State sophomore Alyza Winston scored 11 points and had three assists. The Spartans were led in rebounding by reserve Taiyier Parks' 11 rebounds. It was the third time that the six-foot-three sophomore grabbed as many boards this season.

Alabama 80, North Carolina 71

Stephanie Watts played her heart out. The North Carolina guard senior scored 29 points, making seven-of-11 threes. She is known for being a defensive guard and she lived up to that by getting a game high three blocks. Despite all of this, Watts couldn't lift the Tar Heels to victory over Alabama.

The Crimson Tide got an even more amazing performance as guard Jordan Lewis got a near triple-double. Lewis, who averaged 16 points per game during the regular season, scored a season high 32 points, with 11 rebounds and eight assists. The five-foot-seven senior also drained four-of-seven threes.

Alabama senior Ariyah Copeland recorded a double-double with 11 points, 12 rebounds to go with two blocks. It was the six-foot-three forward's 11th double-double of the season.

North Carolina's big woman showed up big as well. At six-foot-four Janelle Bailey just missed her fourth straight double-double with 16 points and nine rebounds. Bailey's 16 points were the most she scored in six contests.
