San Francisco takes on Houston in the first round at the Fort Worth Region of the Women's National Invitational Tournament, March 19.

San Francisco enters the game at 15-10 behind the play of Ioanna Krimili. The sophomore guard leads the team with an 18.7 scoring average. She boasts amazing shooting percentages of 46 percent from three-point land and 90.4 percent from the free-throw line. Krimili hit more three-point shots than she did two-point field goals. The five-foot-10 native of Heaklion, Greece made 81 threes as opposed to 56 two-points shots. She only missed eight of her 83 free-throws during the season.

Krimili scored at least 20 points in 13 games. In those games she hit at least three triples 12 times.

The Dons have another international talent in Lucie Hoskova, who is from the Czech Republic. Also measuring in at five-foot-10, this guard is an efficient scorer inside of the three-point line. Hoskova averaged 14 points per game and shot an overall 55 percent from the field. She made 131 shots, but only 12 came from beyond the three-point line where she shot 34 percent.

Houston (16-7) is built more on defense. Not armed with the great shooting that San Francisco enters the game with, the Cougars has a group of players that make it hard to dribble and pass. Junior guard Britney Onyeje leads the team with an average of 2.1 steals per game. She had a season best five swipes in a conference road win against Tulane. She had six games with at least three steals. Onyeje also leads the team in scoring at 10.3 points per game. The five-foot-nine starter had her best offensive output against Oklahoma when she scored 23 points. She also had three assists and two steals that game.

Dymond Gladney is second on the squad in steals. A five-foot-five junior from Los Angeles, Gladney stole the ball 1.9 times per game. She had a few outputs that mirrored Onyeje. Gladney's five-steal game came against Oklahoma. Her 23-point performance was against Cincinnati. She knocked down nine-of-14 shots that day, while tallying up four steals on defense. Gladney is third on the team in scoring at 9.8 points per game.

Five other players on the team average at least 1.1 steals or more per game. One of them is a capable forward. Tatyana Hill is a six-foot-one junior who posted averages of 7.5 points, 1.4 steals and a team best six rebounds per game. Hill averaged 10.9 points per game last season and can score in double digits on any night, but this season she took nearly three less shots per game than last season. The career 46 percent shooter from the field and 51 percent shooter from the free-throw line saw her totals rise this season. She posted career bests with percentages of 48.8 from the field and 65.9 percent from the free-throw line.

Charlotte's Jett-Wilson to showdown with Florida's Smith

While their records are less than flattering, Charlotte and Florida have some very talented players that will thrill anyone who is able to steam or view the broadcast of their contest, March 19 in the Charlotte Region of the WNIT.

Charlotte enters the battle at 10-10, led by senior star guard Octavia Jett-Wilson. She brings in a career best average of 21.1 points per game. After averaging 10.4 points during her first season, Jett-Wilson averaged a combined 7.8 points per game over her second and third seasons. This year she exploded as the team's top option registering two 42-point games during her final campaign.

Florida is 10-12, coming out of the always difficult SEC. Five-foot-10 senior guard Kiara Smith leads the way for the Gators with an average of 18.4 points per game. She has two games where she scored at least 34 points this season under her belt. Smith is also a capable distributor. She leads the team with 3.9 assists per game, having eight games with at least five dimes.
