Legends of 2021 - Part One

Most of these players seasons may be wrapped up but we can't let go without paying tribute to the great moments that they had this season. Join us as we feature the Legends of 2021!

Mia Davis, Temple

Mia Davis was the leading scorer and rebounder for Temple. She averaged 17.6 points and grabbed 7.6 rebounds per game. The six-foot senior forward scored 34 points in a loss against Florida Gulf Coast where she knocked down 12-of-18 shots. She also had 12 rebounds in that contest. In a win over SMU, Davis scored 22 points and pulled down 15 rebounds along with collecting two steals.

Davis tallied five double-doubles this season. Over her career she scored 1,753 points and grabbed 930 rebounds. She averaged 16.5 points and 8.8 boards at Temple.

Ioanna Krimili, San Francisco

Born in Greece, Ionna Krimili showed that she had game in 2021. All of her shooting and scoring numbers improved in this, her sophomore season. She averaged a team best 18.7 points per game, while shooting 45 percent overall, 46 percent from three-point land and 90 percent from the free-throw line.

Krimili scored her season high of 29 points in a road win over Loyola Marymount. She connected on 10-of-15 shots, including nine-of-14 from three. She hit four 0r more three-pointers in a game 11 times over the season.

Krimili and her team landed a spot in the Women's National Invitational Tournament where they will battle the University of Houston. Krimili is currently second in the nation in three-point shooting percentage and eighth in the nation in free-throw shooting.

Dariauna Lewis, Alabama A&M

Dariauna Lewis is a six-foot-one junior who put up big numbers for the Alabama A&M Bulldogs. She had 14 double-doubles, including a 20-20 performance. In a SWAC tournament contest against Grambling, Lewis posted 21 points and 20 rebounds. She made seven-of-13 shots and seven-of-eight free-throws. Southern also got a taste of a big performance from Lewis when she scored 24 points and collected 19 rebounds.

Lewis had six games with at least three blocked shots. She posted averages of 17.6 points and 12.6 rebounds per game. The forward from Omaha, Nebraska was the fifth best rebounder in the NCAA.

Taylor Williams, Western Michigan

One of the best games of the 2020-21 season from any player came from Western Michigan forward Taylor Williams. The redshirt freshman stepped up big and canned 14-of-23 shots, scored 30 points and grabbed 21 rebounds against Akron. The six-foot-two powerhouse posted eight double-doubles. One of those game saw her score 19 points, get 14 rebounds as well as collect six steals and four blocks against Miami (Ohio).

In her first season on the court she led the squad in rebounds and steals with averages of 9.6 boards and 1.6 steals. Williams was third on the team in scoring, averaging 12.3 points per game.

Victoria Mason, Hampton

This five-foot-eight freshman guard is a player to watch for years to come. Victoria Mason only averaged 7.5 points per game but her impact came on the defensive end. She led the team in steals with an average of 1.8 swipes per game. Mason collected a season high seven steals against Gardner-Webb. She also scored career best 14 points that game as well. In a game against Radford she posted five steals.

Mason was the second highest scorer on the team. She also was second on the team in assists and third in rebounding. She grabbed a season best nine rebounds against Charleston Southern.

Her best day as a three-point shooter came against North Carolina Ashville when she made three-of-four triples on her way to 13 points which was her second highest scoring output for the season.
