Cleveland State 76 - Youngstown State 73

Youngstown State (8-7) got a strong performance from freshman forward Nneka Obiazor, who led all players with 29 points but Cleveland State had a stronger fourth quarter outscoring YSU 27-11 in the final stanza to steal the road win.

Fourth quarter woes are a repetitive thing for the Penguins. On Feb. 13, They were outscored 20-7 in the fourth in a 64-53 loss to IUPUI. The night before IUPUI outscored YSU 20-9 in the fourth handing the Penguins a 72-65 defeat.

Prior to this three-game slide, Youngstown State was the winner of three straight but before that it lost 61-46, after being outscored 17-7 against Robert Morris on Jan. 29.

This time Cleveland State (9-7) was led by Barbara Zieniewska, who had 19 points, five rebounds and three steals. The Vikings star guard Mariah White, who averages 20 points per game had 16 but led her team with eight assists, which is her second highest total in that category for the season. Guard Tayla Levy knocked down four threes for the Vikings as she scored 14 points.

Cleveland State got a major boost off of the bench form sophomore center Aminata Ly. The 6-4 center from Dakar had her biggest game of the season. In 24 minutes she made five-of-seven shots, scoring 11 points. Ly was even more impressive on defense with five blocks, one steal and 10 rebounds. Ly played far beyond her season averages of 1.9 points and 2.2 rebounds per contest.

For Youngstown State, Obiazor is proving to be one of the best forwards in the conference. She is averaging 15.5 points per game after her career 29-point effort against Cleveland State. The 5-10 forward made a season high 11 field goals, shooting 61.1 percent for the entire game. Obiazor has scored at least 11 points in all but two games this season.

Arizona 59 - California 50

Arizona (15-2) used a 16-7 fourth quarter to get past a determined but winless California (0-14) squad. Guard Aari McDonald scored a game high 28 points, while leading all players with three steals on the defensive end. The 5-6 senior from Fresno, California entered the game averaging 18.2 points per game. She has scored at least 20 points in five of her last eight contests.

Both teams struggled from three, shooting a combined four-of-27 from beyond the arc.

Cal got double-doubles from two players. Guard Dalayah Daniels posted 24 points and 10 rebounds. Forward Ugonne Onyiah had 13 points and 10 rebounds as well.

Colorado 60 - Washington State 57

Six-foot-three forward Mya Hollingshed powered Colorado (9-9) back to .500 with a narrow win on the road. Hollingshed had her second highest scoring performance of the season when she scored 28 points on 11-of-16 shooting. She pulled down 12 rebounds and took the ball away from Washington State four times by stealing it. The senior also had one block. Hollingshed entered the game with an average of 16.4 points per game. She scored her season high 32 points in an upset win over Stanford, Jan. 17.

Washington State was led in scoring by Charlisse Leger-Walker's 21-point, 13-rebound output.

Oregon State 77 - USC 52

Oregon State (7-6) dominated USC (10-9) on its home court as forward Taylor Jones led a determined rebounding effort for the Beavers.

Jones led Oregon State with 13 rebounds, while her team outrebounded USC 44-25. Jones also pitched in nine points but the scoring load was led by accurate three-point shooting. Oregon State shot 9-14 beyond the arc as Aleah Goodman and Talia Von Oelhoffen combined for six-of-eight from three. Von Oelhoffen scored 19 points in 22 minutes off of the bench. She also had five rebounds. Goodman poured in 17 points on six-of-nine shooting from the field.
