It's the year 2020 and we are in one of the worst years in mankind history. The United States has been put on pause and the world of sports has been on pause too. Now is the time to get creative and become more inventive. But when it comes to basketball there is one thing that is constant. LeBron James is the KING.

Since the age of sixteen LeBron has been in the limelight and has never shied away from the social pressures to be great. With the coming of age of the internet he was one of the most hyped prospects in NBA history to jump from the high school game and straight to professional sports. A kid from Akron, Ohio gets drafted by the Cleveland Cavilers as the number one pick. Now here is where the story gets interesting.

LeBron becomes the most popular and saw after athlete in the world, but there is a ghost that stands in the shadows. The ghost? Well we all know that ghost is Michael Jordan aka the GOAT. Michael Jordan transcended the game of basketball to new heights that people have never seen. With helping build Nike into a sports brand juggernaut, pushing the boundaries of the fashion world with Jordan Brand sneakers, and making everybody a Chicago Bulls fan in the 1990s. No one will every be able to replicate what Jordan ever did, but they sure got close. Rest in peace Kobe Bean Bryant. And the question that everyone wants to know is who is the greatest of all-time to play the game of basketball?

Now lets talk about the history of NBA basketball greats. Bill Russell and Wilt Chamberlain are two of the greatest centers to play in the 60s. Dominant forces on the court, one known as a champion, and the other known as a freak athlete. Next, you have Kareem Abdul-Jabbar who is probably one of the most winningest players in basketball history. With the sky hook he was almost unstoppable. He also joined Mr. Los Angeles himself Earvin "Magic" Johnson. Another kid, that played for the Boston Celtics, Larry Bird, was one bad ass white boy that could flat out ball. The 80s were ran be Bird and Magic. The 90s hit; Michael Jordan and the Bulls took over the NBA, but always became globe superstars. The hottest thang smoking and with all great things they come to an end.

Fast-forward and we are in the 2000s. The Los Angeles Lakers have just won three championships in a row with the dynamite duo of Shaquille O'Neal and Kobe Bryant. Now, I know that I have skipped some great players, but the ones I mentioned ruled their respectfully eras. It's 2003 and here comes the LeBron James freight train coming through. LeBron in 2007 takes one of the worst put together teams to the NBA Finals and gets sweep by the San Antonio Spurs. In his first fours years he took Cleveland to the Finals, but it just wasn't good enough. Even when LeBron went onto win two MVPs in back-to-back years. The Cavilers failed to get back to the promise land and the KING has left.

The rest of history explains itself. LeBron won two championships and two more MVPs while joining Dwayne Wade and Chris Bosh in Miami. And instead of staying in Miami he comes back to Cleveland and wins another championship. The only team in NBA history to come back from down three to one in the Finals. While facing a team that went 73 and 9 and having the first ever unanimous MVP in NBA history. Adding another stop LeBron ends up in Los Angeles and joins the Lakers. Its 2020 and the KING is back on top as so are the Lakers.

Just talking about the good in LeBron's career is unrealistic. With that being said every player and I mean every player in NBA history has had pitfalls. So why is it that when in comes to LeBron its so much more harsh? What about LeBron threaten you? The sport of basketball is at an all time high. Not just in the United States, but also around the world. The NBA is one of the most recognized leagues in the world. On and off the court LeBron has shown what it's like to not just be the greatest basketball player ever, but also a great human being. The KING has proven himself over and over again by breaking record after record. And with his career coming to an end in the unseen future we are left with to be continued. So my question to all the LeBron haters is why can't we give LeBron his flowers now?
