Nowadays, we can teach children to play golf even though omnipresent video games.

However, golf is a game that is played for a lifetime.

It doesn't matter if you are 90, 10, or 2 years old. Although we could agree that 2 is the least, in the following text we will see why it is or why it is not.

So at what age to start?

Golf is a unique game that allows generations of families to play together at the same time. This is fantastic and exciting!

If you or your children want to learn to play golf, try the best clubs for golf lessons and start your practice.

It is possible to start playing golf at an early age or at least start learning the rules. On the other hand, it's never too late. You can always start learning golf later in life, as long as you have the physical shape and physical flexibility.

One of the key points, not so much related to age, is how someone teaches us to play golf.

It is important to teach children through play and in short time intervals because they quickly get mentally tired, and their attention starts to "escape". Reward and praise are the crux to increase motivation.

Golf is a life sport and people have their whole lives ahead of them to enjoy it.

As in any other sport, it is better to start golf as early as possible. Children are bright and learn quickly. This is especially important if you want your child to be very good at golf one day.

The world-famous players, who are considered to be most promising but also exceptional, started at the age of 2.

Can golf be dangerous for younger children?

There is a big difference between "playing" golf and learning golf. One is theory but the other is practice.

Due to the equipment involved, there is a chance for kids to hurt themselves or others.

There are plenty of known cases where children have either hit someone or been hit with a golf club or golf ball.

Children are unarticulated at the age of less than 5, and that is why such situations are inevitable. It is important for a child to know and understand what is expected of him/her in a golf game.

If you assess that your child is capable of more accurately understanding the rules of the game and etiquette at the age of 3, then go ahead and persuade them to go with you to the golf course to follow and play.

Even though children can "learn" to play golf on TV or using a golf simulator, it is still recommended that it be at the age of 5-6, when they will be ready to learn and start.

How to decide when the time's right?

Children, of course, differ at a younger age, so progress and development are faster for one child and slower for another, and vice versa.

It depends on your child what is the best time for him/her to start playing golf.

Children must develop skills and abilities to follow verbal instructions.

It is very important to provide a child or adult with an appropriate social environment where they will learn to play golf.

When I say appropriate social environment I mean the age-appropriate one. When we talk about kids, space for learning and development is crucial, because they need to feel safe in their space for learning.

This will only make it possible to develop their skills without obstacles.

What are the benefits of playing golf for seniors?

Physical benefits - depending on what type of golf activity we talk about (walking, carrying clubs, pulling clubs, etc.) a lot of calories can be burned by playing golf. This is great for seniors physical health

Mental benefits- you keep your mind strong by thinking about wind, green speeds, grass depths, slope, etc. the strategic thinking is usually being used.

Social benefits- golf is all about having a good time with friends. And for seniors, it is hard to stay connected with their friends. Mental stimulation outside your home is of crucial importance for your health.

Here are some of the benefits of playing golf at an early age:

The golf course is a safe and beautiful environment that gives children pleasure

An exercise that promotes wellness is one of the benefits

Golf forces children to develop their abilities

If they spend a lot of time outdoors, children improve their health

Golfers are people who learn to control their emotions, which is the key to the maturation of each individual

Compared to other sports, there are no risks or injuries in golf

Essentials

When we talk about children, it is up to you to assess whether your child has developed enough of his psychomotor function to be able to follow, learn and master the rules of the game and the etiquette that applies on the golf course.

Golf is equally important to seniors and young people to, in one case, develop and in another maintain and use the cognitive functions of the mind. Golf teaches us to control emotions, relieves stress, relaxes, so it has a positive effect on both physical and mental health.
