New York 86, Minnesota 75

New York started its season 3-0 with a home win over Minnesota that fell to 0-2. Led by point guard Sabrina Ionescu's triple-double of 26 points, 12 assists and 10 rebounds, New York trailed 45-43 at the half but used a 19-10 third quarter to turn things around and capture the victory. New York forward Betnijah Laney, continued her strong start with 20 points on 8-12 shooting. She also had five assists. Minnesota veteran star center Sylvia Fowles led her team with 26 points and 11 rebounds.

Las Vegas 96, Seattle 80

Las Vegas exacted revenge on its season opening loss to host Seattle as it earned a 16-point win. Guard Jackie Young led the way with 21 points, as she shot 10-10 from the free-throw line. She also had 10 rebounds. Her teammate and reigning league MVP Aja Wilson had 18 points, 11 rebounds, five assists and three blocks. Center Liz Cambage also made things tough for the Storm. The Las Vegas post player scored 18 points, making eight of 10 shots. Forward Breanna Stewart paced Seattle with 26 points. She also had 11 rebounds. Her teammate center Ezi Magbegor led the storm with 13 rebounds to go along with 14 points.

Phoenix 91, Washington 70

The Phoenix Mercury improved to 2-1 with a blowout road win over Washington. Six players for Phoenix scored double-digits led by 38-year-old vet Diana Taurasi's 17 points. Taurasi shot 6-9 overall and 3-6 from the three-point arc. Center Brittney Griner had 14 points and 10 rebounds. Reserve guard Sophie Cunningham pitched in with 12 points and four rebounds off of the bench. Washington center Tina Charles scored 20 points and hauled down 12 rebounds.

May 19

Connecticut 88, Indiana 67

Indiana (0-3) continued its three-point struggles in a 21-point road loss to Connecticut (3-0). The Fever ended the game shooting 18.5 percent from three for the season, which was second to last in the WNBA. In this game Indiana shot 4-15 and only two players scored double digits as starting guard Danielle Robinson had 12 points and reserve Tiffany Mitchell posted 10. Connecticut shot an amazing 10-21 from three. Reserve Natisha Hiedeman had a game high 19 points off of the bench for the Sun.

Chicago 85, Atlanta 77

Chicago improved to 2-0 without Candace Parker as forward Kahleah Cooper led the Sky with 23 points in a win over host Atlanta (0-2). Parker missed the game with an ankle injury, but Chicago jumped out to a 46-26 lead and held on to win by 12 points. The Sky also got double-doubles from Ruthie Hebard's 18 points and 10 boards and Astou Ndour-fall's 15 points and 11 rebounds. Atlanta got 45 of its 77 points from its starting backcourt. Courtney Williams had 24 points and Chennedy Carter had 21. The duo combined for 18-34 shooting, the rest of the team shot 12-43.

Seattle 90, Minnesota 78

Defending WNBA champ Seattle (2-1) bounced back from its first loss of the season with a double digit in over Minnesota (0-3). Jewel Lloyd scored 23 points and teammate Sue Bird had 21 points with eight assists. Minnesota reserve Crystal Dangerfield led the Lynx with 22 points.

Washington 101, New York 72

Washington (1-2) blasted New York (3-1) 23-8 in the fourth quarter in a lopsided home win. Mystics center Tina Charles dominated with 34 points. Forward Ariel Atkins supported her with 25. Forward Betnijah Laney scored 20 points for the Liberty.

Atlanta 83, Indiana 79

The Dream got their first win after two losses. Atlanta topped Indiana (0-4) on the road holding off a late Fever comeback attempt. Dream guard Chennedy Carter scored 24 points and dished out four assists. Indiana got a strong performance from forward Jessica Breland who had 15 points and 16 rebounds. Fever rookie guard Kysre Gondrezick had her best performance off of the bench with eight points on 3-3 shooting, including 2-2 from three in 11 minutes of action.
