Harrison catches fire for the Dallas Wings

Dallas Wings center Isabelle Harrison is averaging 10 points per game. After a stop and go kind of start, Harrison has been on a role since June 24. She has scored double figures in her last six games and has shot over 50 percent in all but one of those contests. During that stretch she had two 23-point games. One was against Chicago on June 30. Harrison shot 10-17 from the field and 3-3 from the free-throw line. Two games later on July 5 against New York she scored 23 points on an even better 9-12 shooting from the field. In between those contests Harrison shot a near perfect 6-7 from the field on July 2 against Chicago.

The Nashville, Tennessee native and University of Tennessee alum's average of 10 points is the second best of her career in the WNBA. She averaged 11.4 points in 2017 when she played with the Las Vegas Aces.

Laney having career year with Liberty

The New York Liberty are led in scoring by Betnijah Laney's average of 19.8 points per game. This is her best season so far in her six-year WNBA career. Last season she averaged 17.2 points per game for Atlanta, prior to that she never averaged more than 5.6 points per game. The six-foot guard out of Rutgers is a 27-year-old, from Clayton, Delaware. She has scored 14 points or more in every game except for one this year. She started the season with 30 points in a win against Indiana, May 14. She scored 26 against Dallas in another victory, March 25. Laney kicked off 2021 with eight straight games with at least 20 points. On June 26, she posted 28 points in a road win over Atlanta, June 26. Laney is also shooting a career best 49.3 percent from the field. She's had four games this season where she has shot over 60 percent.

Fever tops New York, five score double figures

It's been a tough year for Indiana but the Fever improved to 3-16 in a win on Friday, July 9. Indiana's 82-69 win over New York featured five players who scored 10 or more points, led by Kelsey Mitchell's 20. The 5-8 guard out of Ohio State is averaging 16 points per game and has scored at least 20 points six times this season. She has posted as many points in three out of the last four games as well.

The Fever also got 18 points from guard Danielle Robinson who shot 6-10 from the field and 6-6 from the three-point line. Indiana shot 13-13 as a team from the free-throw line which made up for 3-13 shooting from three-point land. Center Teaira McCowan scored 15 points and also posted nine rebounds and four blocks. Forward Tiffany Mitchell scored 10 points on 4-7 shooting and center Jantel Lavender shot 5-7, scoring 10 points and hauling down six rebounds. This was Lavender's second best shooting performance of the season.

Lynx win sixth straight, toppled Aces on the road

Minnesota improved to 11-7 after winning its sixth straight contest, Friday in Las Vegas. The Lynx got off to a 33-18 lead and never looked back as 30-year-old Layshia Clarendon led the way with 18 points and nine assists in the win. Clarendon matched a season high in assists and scored her second highest amount of points for the season. Her season high in scoring came on June 25 in a one point win over the Aces, where she scored 20 points on 10-15 shooting. The 5-9 guard had only posted 10 points or more twice prior to June 25. Since then she has scored double figures in her last five games.
