Women's college basketball is coming soon. Here at Winners Only, we will be dropping some previews of our favorite teams to watch for the 2k22 season. Our theme for women's sports in 2022 is "Rise of the Woman."

Players to Watch

Maddy Siegrist

Maddy Siegrist is one of the best forwards in the nation. She averaged 22.8 points, 9.8 rebounds, 1.5 steals and 1.1 blocked shots per game. She shined in the Women's National Invitational Tournament. In an opening round win against UMass she scored 32 points on 13-18 shooting. The 6-1 forward shot a season best 5-6 from three in that contest. She followed that with a second round effort of 26 points, 11 rebounds and five assists in a win over Florida. She also had three blocks and three steals against the Gators. Her season highs in scoring and rebounding came against Creighton. She posted 34 points, 19 rebounds, along with three blocks and three assists. Her top defensive performance was against DePaul where she had four blocks. She also had three games with four steals.

Brianna Herlihy

A tough power forward, Brianna Herlihy guided Villanova in blocks with an average of 1.3 blocks per game. She rejects a season high six shots, along with 24 points and nine rebounds against La Salle. Herlihy had five games with 10 or more rebounds. Three of those games were double-doubles. Her most productive double-double was when she scored 20 points with 10 rebounds and four assists against Seton Hall. She was second on the team with an average of 13.8 points per game. Herlihy had a near triple-double when she scored 11 points, dished out seven assists and grabbed seven rebounds against Butler. She stole the ball three times on four occasions last season.

Lior Garzon

Lior Garzon had a productive freshman season where she averaged 8.8 points per game. She scored 11 points in 17 minutes during her first collegiate game, as she drained three triples on four attempts. Garzon had her two best offensive games against Butler. Her top scoring effort was 19 points on 7-11 shooting against the Bulldogs. In less than three weeks later she hit Butler up for 17 points. Garzon had three or more three-point shots.

Bella Runyan

During her first year at Villanova, Runyan improved as the season progressed. She averaged just 4.9 points per game, but wrapped the season up on a roll. Runyan scored 16 points in her team's second round WNIT victory over Florida. In the team's final game in the WNIT she posted 12 points in a loss to Delaware. In a game against Georgetown, she posted three steals and two blocks.
