Nov. 12

Princeton 76, Delaware 56

Princeton followed up its road win over Villanova with a visiting win over Delaware. The Tigers shutdown Delaware's star Jasmine Dickey, holding her to 10 points on 4-21 shooting. She also turned over the ball five times.

Julia Cunningham scored 26 points, grabbed five rebounds, blocked one shot and got one steal for Princeton. She shot 4-6 from three. Abby Meyers also shot well from long distance shooting 3-6 from beyond the arc with 16 points.

Grace Stone scored 15 points with four rebounds and three assists for the winners. Delaware was led in scoring and rebounding by Ty Battle who had 15 points and 10 rebounds.

Nov. 11

Coppin State 73, William & Mary 56

Coppin State improved to 2-0 during its home opener by beating William & Mary. Jaia Alexander, who posted 30 points in Coppin State's first win, followed that up with a 19-point effort to lead the winners. She also paced the team with eight rebounds. Jalynda Salley scored 13 points as she and Alexander were a perfect combined 8-8 from the free-throw line. Aliyah Lawson guided the Coppin State offense tallying seven assists with just two turnovers. She also scored eight points.

Colleen Bucknor just missed a double-double with nine points and seven rebounds off of the bench. William & Mary shot the ball well, making 40 percent of its three-point attempts, but it did a sad job taking care of the ball with 18 turnovers and just eight assists. Mossi Staples came off of the bench to lead Coppin State with three steals. Lawson followed her up with two swipes of her own.

South Florida 72, Alabama State 37

With 6:16 to play in the third quarter South Florida led 45-16 over Alabama State as guard Sydni Harvey had 19 points on 6-9 shooting in 17 minutes. The visiting Hornetsonly made six of their first 32 shot attempts midway through the third. South Florida's forward Bethy Mununga caused problems for Alabama State as she finished the game with eight points, five rebounds and two blocks, which she had all of with 3:17 to play in the third period as the Bulls extended their lead to 52-18. At that point Harvey posted a game high 22 points. She didn't score the rest of the way, but South Florida didn't need anymore baskets from her as it went on to outscore Alabama State 20-19 the rest of the way.

Harvey scored her 22 points on 7-11 shooting. She made 6-8 from three as well. Guard Elisa Pinzan dished out six assists for South Florida with zero turnovers. Dulcy Mendjiadeu Fankam came off of the bench to score 14 points in 19 minutes. She shot 6-9 and grabbed four rebounds.

South Florida shot 48 percent from the field and 84 percent from the free-throw line. Alabama State had a hard time getting things going on offense shooting 21 percent from the field making 11 of its 51 shot attempts. Alabama State was led in scoring by Ayana Emmanuel who scored 12 points. Jayla Crawford had a solid night for the Hornets as she connected on 3-4 shooting from three, scoring nine points. The rest of her teammates combined to shoot horrid 3-16 from long distance.

North Texas 94, Howard 56

North Texas hit 14 of its 26 three-point shots while holding Howard to four three-point makes on 25 attempts in it's 38-point home win. Quincy Noble led the way for North Texas scoring 25 points while shooting 5-7 from three. Her teammate Jazion Jackson backed her up with 17 points on 3-4 shooting from three-point land. She had five rebounds and four assists in the win. Aly Gamez had a near triple double with 12 points, eight rebounds and eight assists. The three guards also buried Howard with excellent free-throw shooting combining to shoot 13-14 from the charity stripe.

Howard's Lyanna Warren scored 19 points, making half of her 14 shots. She also led the squad with four assists and three steals. Anzhane' Hutton scored 11 shots with seven rebounds, one block and a steal for the Bison.
