Mississippi State 65, Dayton 54

Rickea Jackson posted at least 20 points for the third time this season as Mississippi State (5-0) beat Dayton by 11 points in a win at the Daytona Beach Invitational in Daytona Beach, Florida. Jackson's 20 points was a game-high. Myah Taylor scored a season high 16 points for the Bulldogs, shooting 7-12. The 5-7 senior guard had five rebounds, and a steal. Anastasia Hayes continued her double-digit scoring streak alive as she posted 11 points. The transfer guard who starred at Middle Tennessee State during 2020-21, has not scored less than 11 points this season. She is currently averaging 15.2 points per game. Last season she averaged 26.8 points. Denae Carter led the Bulldogs with nine rebounds off of the bench. She also had two blocks and four points.

Dayton was led by Makira Cook's 16 points. Erin Whalen scored 12 points and grabbed nine rebounds for the Flyers.

No. 23 Texas A&M 57, Pitt 46

After an 18-9 fourth quarter, Texas A&M (5-0) held off Pitt (4-1) at the Paradise Jam in the US Virgin Islands, to remain unbeaten. Both teams struggled with shooting the ball. Texas A&M shot 29 percent going 21-72, including 6-19 from three. Pitt shot 14-47, for 29 percent. The Panthers missed all six of their three-point attempts. Another thing that hurt Pitt was shooting 64 percent from the free-throw line, making just 18 of its 28 attempts. Texas A&M got significantly less free-throws but hit 75 percent from the line shooting 9-12.

Jordon Nixon and Destiny Pitts led the Aggies with 12 points each. Nixon also had four rebounds, three assists and a steal. Pitts pitched in with eight rebounds, two assists, a block and a steal. Kayla Wells scored 10 points making two of her three-point shots.

Pitt was led by reserve Dayshanette Harris' 16 points. She shot 8-11 from the free-throw line, with the rest of her teammates shooting 10-17 from the charity stripe. Liatu King had a strong game for the losing team compiling 19 rebounds and 10 points.

No. 22 West Virginia 65, Purdue 57

KK Deans scored 12 points with six assists, leading West Virginia (4-0) to an eight-point win over Purdue at the St. Pete Showcase in St. Petersburg, Florida. Deans also had a season's best four rebounds, while snatching two steals from the opposition. Reserve Ari Gray was the only other Mountaineer to post double-digits in scoring. She scored 10 points making half of her 10 shots. West Virginia got rebounding support from two reserves. Blessing Ejiofor led the way off of the bench with eight rebounds and a blocked shot, while Yemiyah Morris yanked away six boards with two blocked shots.

Brooke Moore led Purdue with 13 points off of the bench. Starting guard Cassidy Hardin shot 4-10 from three-point territory with 12 points.

USC 79, Seton Hall 65

Forward Jordyn Jenkins scored 18 points with 12 rebounds and four assists to lead 4-1 USC to a 79-65 win over Seton Hall in Cancun, Mexico. Jenkins' effort was her first double-double of the year. The 18 points was her best scoring output of her sophomore season as well. USC's Alissa Pili followed Jenkins with 15 points, six rebounds, four assists and three steals. Angel Jackson came off of the bench to score 14 points and grab five boards.

USC shot 45 percent from the field and 75 percent from the line. The Trojans had 21 assists and just 10 turnovers. Seton Hall had 12 assists and 14 turnovers. The Pirates shot 35 percent from the field and 72 percent from the stripe. Sidney Cooks scored a game-high 21 points for Seton Hall. Lauren Park-Lane scored 17 points, with seven assists and five rebounds for the Pirates.
