Aneesah Morrow - DePaul

Aneesah Morrow had a bit of a rocky December, facing an injury and tough shooting performances. Despite the difficulties, Morrow ended the season with a couple of strong individual efforts. Morrow lifted DePaul to a 78-69 win over Providence on Dec. 28, behind 29 points, 19 rebounds, four assists, three steals and one blocked shot. Her next game was a 33-point, 10-rebound and five-steal effort in a loss to No. 21 Creighton that closed out 2022 on Dec. 31. Morrow is fourth in the NCAA with a scoring average of 26.3 points and seventh with a rebound clip of 11.9 boards per game.

Taiyanna Jackson - Kansas

After a productive first season at Kansas where she averaged 8.9 points, 8.1 rebounds and 3.1 blocks, this season Taiyanna Jackson has become one of the best centers in all of the NCAA. The 6-6, East Chicago, Indiana native is averaging 15.9 points, 12.2 rebounds and 2.5 blocked shots per game. She is also shooting 65.8 percent from the field. Her free-throw percentage went up drastically from 56.3 percent last season to 71.7 percent this year. Last week Jackson led the Jayhawks to an 80-65 road win over Oklahoma State. She grabbed 19 rebounds to go along with 17 points in a win that helped the No. 22 Kansas squad improve to 11-1.

Diamond Miller - Maryland

Maryland is 11-3 and Diamond Miller is having her best season with an average of 18.5 points per game. The 6-3 guard from Somerset, New Jersey, had her fifth game with 20 points or more, as she scored 22 points in a 107-85 win over Minnesota on Dec. 30. Miller shot 8-13 from the field and 6-7 from the free-throw line. She also had her strongest defensive outing of the season when she swiped five steals from the Minnesota offense in the home win. Miller is also averaging career highs with 6.5 rebounds, 1.8 steals and 1.8 blocks per game. She has blocked two or more shots in eight contests.

Kaylynne Truong - Gonzaga

Kaylynne Truong made six threes in back-to-back games. On Dec. 29 she set her season high with six made triples on 11 attempts in a 77-63 road win over Pepperdine. She scored her season's best of 26 points in the effort. Truong followed that with six threes made on just seven attempts in a 96-51 whipping of Loyola Marymount on Dec. 31. Truong scored 18 points in the road win over LMU. She also posted six assists to close out the calendar year. Gonzaga is 14-2 as Truong is averaging 16.1 points, while shooting 39.3 percent from three-point land.

Makayla Timpson - Florida State

Makayla Timpson is shooting 64.4 percent from the field as she has helped Florida State get off to a 14-2 start. On Dec. 29, Timpson led her team with 20 points, 11 rebounds and five blocked shots in a 78-71 win over No. 13 North Carolina. She shot 9-14 in the road win over the No. 13 Tarheels. On New Year's Day, Timpson, posted a near double-double with 10 points, nine rebounds and two steals. She shot 5-8 in the 99-58 road win over Georgia Tech. Timpson is a 6-2 sophomore forward from Edison, Georgia.

Unique Drake - St. John's

A 5-7 senior guard from Columbia, South Carolina, Unique Drake led the troops to a 68-48 win against Georgetown on Dec. 31. Drake finished 2022 with a season's best 4-5 shooting performance from three-point land. She also scored a season high of 18 points while shooting 7-10 overall. Over her past two games she is shooting 6-7 from three, which was a strong turnaround as she began the month missing her first 12 three-point shots. St. John's is 13-0 and currently ranked 25th in the NCAA.
