No. 8 Ohio State 86, Ohio 56

YaYa Felder posted 21 points for the Ohio Bobcats, but the host and underdog Bobcats had a rough time with Ohio State's press in the 30-point loss tonight.

The Buckeyes forced 33 turnovers, collecting 18 steals. "Their press is real good," said Ohio's coach Bob Bolden. "I think we knew in order to have a chance we needed to keep [the turnover number] down ... [Ohio State's] as good as advertised."

Ohio State recorded 18 steals as four players had three each to share the team lead. The strong defense made up for a rough night of shooting by the Buckeyes who shot 38 percent from the field including 23.1 percent from three. Ohio State star scorer Jacy Sheldon had an unusually rough shooting night going 6-19. The 5-10 guard from Dublin, Ohio is a career 49.3 percent shooter. She led the Buckeyes with 16 points.

Along with leading the Bobcats in scoring Felder also paced the team with four assists and two steals. Ohio got a strong effort from grad student guard Caitlyn Kroll. She led the team with nine rebounds and shared the team lead tallying two blocked shots as did Abby Garnett. Kroll also posted six points. She had a scary moment after a collision that ended the third quarter. However coach Bolden confirmed that she is not injured at the post-game press conference.

"She'll be fine," he said. "It was just a cramp. She's done a lot for us. She's been our leading scorer. She's been our leading rebounder. She's guarded the other team's best player."

Kroll and Garnett were praised by their teammates Felder and Ella Pope for their leadership after the game.

No. 8 Ohio State is 3-0. The Buckeyes have beaten No. 5 Tennessee, Boston College and Ohio, outscoring their opponents 255-195. Ohio State has won each game by at least 12 points or more.

"I'm a big proponent of playing good teams," Bolden said. "I think good teams make you better."

No. 24 Villanova 67, Penn 41

Villanova improved to 3-0 behind another double-double from Maddy Siegrist. She posted 22 points and 11 rebounds to go along with three steals and a blocked shot. Villanova shot 39.1 overall but were an impressive 8-16 from three. The second half of the game was a defensive dominant effort by both teams. Villanova outscored Penn 16-4 in the third quarter, while Penn (1-3) outscored Villanova 10-9 in the fourth quarter.

Northern Kentucky 82, Dayton 78 OT

After a rough loss to Kent on Sunday, Northern Kentucky returned to the state of Ohio and defeated Dayton in overtime. Lindsey Duvall and Kailee Davis posted 30 and 26 points respectively to lift the Norse to victory. Duvall had eight rebounds, three assists and three steals. This was Duvall's second game with at least 30 points this season. She had 36 points in the season opening win over Lipscomb. Davis dished out four assists for the winners.

Northern Kentucky also got a double-double from Emmy Souder. The 6-1 senior center had 11 points and 10 rebounds.
