NCAA Division I

Indiana 3, Iowa 0

The Hoosiers of Indiana improved to 8-6 after sweeping Iowa in a home win 3-0 (25-16, 25-10, 25-20). Morgan Geddes led Indiana with 12 kills on a .391 hitting percentage. Geddes, a 6-2 outside hitter from Grove City, Ohio recovered after a rough two-match stretch with just 10 kills in her last eight sets. She recorded her season high of 15 kills in a win over Texas A&M, Sept. 16. Indiana is now 1-1 in conference play, while Iowa is 6-7 and 0-2 in the Big Ten.

Buffalo 3, Akron 1

Akron hosted Buffalo in Mid-American Conference action. Buffalo took set one 25-22 as Cali Assaley led the way with six kills on a .417 hitting percentage. Assaley and the Bulls cruised the rest of the way winning game two 25-16 and game three 25-17. A fifth-year transfer from UL Monroe, Assaley is a 6-0 outside hitter. Her 12 kills and .478 hitting percentage was her best offensive performance of the season. Buffalo improved to 9-6 and 1-2 in the Mid-American Conference. Akron dropped to 3-11 and 0-3 in conference play.

SMU 3, Memphis 1

SMU got double-doubles from Marieke Van Der Mark and Jadyn Bauss to improve to 9-6 after 3-1 (19-25, 25-17, 25-13, 26-24) win at Memphis. The Tigers dropped to 11-5 and 1-2 in the American Athletic Conference. SMU is now 2-1 in AAC play. Bauss a 6-0 opposite hitter from Frisco, Texas recorded a season high of 13 kills to go along with 18 digs. Earlier in the season Bauss had 32 digs in a five-set match against UConn. Maeieke Van Der Mark is a 6-6 opposite hitter from Papendrecht, The Netherlands. She recorded 14 kills and 10 digs for her first double-double of the season. SMU has won four of its last five contests.

NCAA Division III

Otterbein 3, Muskingum 1

Otterbein and Muskingum got off to a hot start. Morgan Hartman recorded five kills and five digs in the first set, but host Otterbein was edged out by Muskingum 25-22 in the opening stanza. The Cardinals stepped things up big in the second set as Hartman recorded three more kills and four additional blocks as Otterbein took the game 25-14. Hartman, a junior who earned All-American honors last season posted her 550th career dig in the second set.

In the third set Otterbein and Muskingum stood at a 10-10 tie before the visitors went ahead 13-10 forcing the Cardinals to take a timeout to talk things over. Muskingum came out of the timeout and went ahead 14-10 before Otterbein scored the game's next two points. Muskingum went on to shake off the brief run by the Cardinals finding itself up 18-12 forcing another Otterbein timeout. The second timeout of the third game seemed to wakeup Otterbein as it scored the next six points making the score 18-18 as the visitors retreated with a timeout. Otterbein went on to keep the momentum winning the set 25-21.

Otterbein went on to win the fourth and final set 25-19 as Hartman finished the match with season highs of 22 kills and 18 digs. She also hit .432, which was her best showing for a match where she played three sets or more this season. Kennedy Hoffman followed Hartman with 16 kills in the win.

Otterbein improved to 13-4, ending a two-match losing streak.
