After a season and 15 games into her second year, Ohio State sophomore Sarah White made her on-court debut. The setter from Cranberry Township, Pennsylvania appeared on the court for the Buckeyes for the first time, Saturday night, as host Ohio State beat Rutgers 3-0 (25-13, 25-15, 25-14).

In the final two of the three games of the match White dropped 13 assists. Prior to her time at Ohio State, White was an all-state performer at Seneca Valley in Pennsylvania. She was als0 a First Team All-American selection by Under Armor in 2020.

Ohio State improved to 11-5 after the win. The Buckeyes have won five straight contests and are now 7-1 in the Big Ten. Setter Mac Podraza started the game posting 18 assists, four kills, three digs and two blocks after two playing the first two games of the match. The Buckeyes hit .327 as a team, while Rutgers had a hitting percentage of .069. Ohio State will host Illinois, Wednesday, Oct. 19.

Odyssey Warren continues career season at KC

A few weeks ago we featured Kansas City's Odyssey Warren for her strong start this season. Warren is having the best season of her career. She is averaging 3.27 kills and 2.48 digs. In her most recent match she went over 290 points for the season which is a career high. The 5-10, junior outside hitter is averaging 3.77 kills per set. Kansas City is having a rough season overall but the Roos have won two of its last three matches to improve to 6-16. In a win at South Dakota State, Oct. 13, Warren recorded her ninth double-double of the year with 17 kills and 10 digs in a four-set win. The Kansas City native's best individual hitting performance of the year was against Saint Louis. Warren recorded 21 kills on a .413 hitting percentage. She followed that with her most productive double-double with 19 kills and 17 digs at Oral Roberts, the next match.

Thiel's Maria Torres gets 400th dig over weekend

Thiel College's Maria Torres keeps racking up double-doubles. In the process the sophomore outside hitter has gone over 400 digs for her career. Last weekend Thiel earned road wins over Chatham as well as Washington & Jefferson. Torres scored 10 kills and 22 digs against Chatham. She also had 15 kills and 13 digs against Washington & Jefferson. Torres now has 14 double-doubles this season. The 5-11 standout from Boardman, Ohio has 417 career digs and 662 kills over 48 matches and 177 games.

Seleisa Elisaia sets Penn State back on the winning track

Penn State improved to 15-4 and 4-4 in the Big Ten after a 3-2 (25-27, 25-22, 25-15, 20-25, 15-13) win over Iowa. Setter Seleisa Elisaia paced Penn State with 46 assists. She also had seven digs, six kills and five blocks. Elisaia is averaging 9.90 assists per set. The 5-10 grad student from South Jordan, Utah has recorded 40 or more assists seven times this season. She posted her season high of 49 digs in four games during a win against Iowa State, Sept. 2.
