Undertaker WrestleMania dream match

Just having some fun booking a dream WrestleMania match for one of my favorite wrestlers that didn't get a shot against The Deadman

This weekend (at the time of this article being published) is the first WrestleMania since the Undertaker's official retirement in 2020. So I got to thinking of a wrestler who unfortunately never got their chance to wrestle The Deadman at WrestleMania. As a quick refresher Taker retired with a record of 25-2, only having lost to Brock Lesnar 2014 and Roman Reigns in 2017. However in my bizarro world The Streak hasn't been broken yet, and this dream match will replace Roman's match from 2017. Will The Streak eventually be broken in this world? Maybe, but also maybe not. However The Streak still being intact is important to this booking.

So, who am I referring to? It's the Lunatic Fringe himself, Dean Ambrose. Why not, Dean? The Shield has feuded with team Hell no, and The Undertaker before. And sure Roman only got his match because Vince strapped on his rocket to Roman and wanted to push him to the moon. We all know that completely backfired as everyone hated Roman's push, myself included. And since Seth was doing so well with the authority, why not just give it to the other shield member people actually wanted to see get a strong push?

BUILD UP

Who do you send to take down the dead man? Why not send in a lunatic? You've got to be a certain level of crazy to take on "The Streak" and genuinely think you can beat the streak.

This booking will actually take a lot of ques from Dean's match against Brock Lesnar as well as his feud with Chris Jericho. Dean showing the world just how crazy he really is and how ridiculously durable he is.

I would have loved to see the hardcore legends of Terry Funk/Mick Foley teaching Dean how to survive The Undertaker instead of Brock. Dean still gets the Chainsaw and barbed wire baseball bat to even the odds against Taker. If only one of the ECW originals could come by to offer some advice, I'd love to see Dean interact with Tommy Dreamer or maybe even possibly The Sandman. Seeing The Sandman again would never happen for a multitude of reasons, but this is called a dream match for a reason. Sue me.

Speaking of Mick, with the ridiculously iconic show we got when Mankind and Undertaker fought in the hell in the cell. Why not let Dean debut the Ambrose Asylum against the Undertaker first? And then he can still have his match at extreme rules against Chris Jericho that year. Mick Foley warns Dean if he truly wants to take on the Undertaker, the last thing he should do is face him in a "Hell in a Cell" match, he would know. Then Dean smiles and goes "I wasn't exactly thinking a cell, but you'll see what I've got brewing deep in my mind. A place even Undertaker will be afraid to step into".

THE MATCH ITSELF

During the match most of the spots stay exactly the same, except both Dean and Undertaker would be put into the straight jacket. Also the same weapons will be used. I think the only thing I'd love to see added is a steel chair, a metal trash can, and a pair of wooden crutches. Sadly with the PG ratings the barbed wire will never actually be used but it was still fun to see. Thanks WWE. I also wish we could see some color outside of the tacks, maybe if Dean was up for it undertaker could open Dean up the hard way with Vince's approval.

For the ending I'm just going to steal the ending of the original thumbtack bump. However as much of a Dean Ambrose fan I am, he's not going to beat The Undertaker's streak, even with the help of the asylum. I was a huge Dean Ambrose fan, but he won't break the streak. Undertaker wins via choke slam onto the tacks and pins Dean.

AFTERMATH

Afterwards you could even still have the same angle with dean being the face and Jericho being the heel, taunting Dean about how the he's not scared about the asylum because it didn't work against Taker, so how would it work against Y2J? Dean is just a stupid idiot with no chance of beating Jericho. But in that match Dean beats Jericho just as he did in reality. As for The Undertaker's side of the story, I'm honestly unsure where I want it to go from there. I didn't put much thought into the impact of this win other than just continuing on the streak. I didn't think that far ahead and I don't care to. I just wanted Dean to have his WrestleMania moment against The Undertaker.

TL:DR

Down here for the Too Long, Didn't Read portion of the article? Brock Lesnar does not break the streak, Dean Ambrose replaces Roman Reigns against the Undertaker in their WrestleMania match, and Dean debuts the Ambrose Asylum against Undertaker, not against Chris Jericho. But they still have their match at Extreme Rules later on that year.

Also if you would be so kind, I would greatly appreciate a heart. Lastly; if you really feel so inclined tips and of course pledges (currently only $2.99 a month) are always appreciated but by no means required.
