Rene Medley was named NCAA Division II Indoor Track & Field National Athlete of the Year by the The United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association on March 25.
Throughout her career, she collected eight national championships. Medley, a 23-year-old Jamaican native, recorded the eighth fastest 60-meters time (7.37) in 2020 of all the sprinters from her country. In NCAA Division II, Medley had the top time in the 60-meters and the 200-meters (23.57).
During the 2019 NCAA Division II outdoor championship meet she had wins in the 100 meters, 200 meters, 400-meter relay and 1,600-meter relay which led Lincoln to a national championship.
During the summer of 2019, she competed at the Jamaican Athletics Administrative Asscociation National Senior and Junior Championships meet. She placed sixth in the 200-meter finals with a time of 23.44. She also competed in the 100-meter preliminary race.
Medley also performed well in the classroom as she was named to the MIAA Academic Honor Roll multiple times over her collegiate career. During the 2019-20 season, Rene Medley showcased her talent amognst NCAA Division I athletes with wins in the 60 and 200-meter races at the 2019 Hoosier Open. There she beat out runners from schools like Indiana, Cincinnati, St. Louis and Butler.

Somers Defeats Hen Hud to Start 3-0
