Anderson, Kirkland, Brissett among top winners
Arkansas' Jada Baylark ran the seventh best 100 meters time (11.13) in the NCAA on April 16 at the UF Tom Jones Invitational. She placed second to Florida State's Jayla Kirkland who ran a winning time of 11.13. Kirkland's time is now fourth best in the NCAA.

Baylark and Kirkland were both at this year's NCAA Indoor Track & Field Championships. Baylark faired better at the meet as she made it to the national final in the 60 meters, where she finished seventh. Kirkland finished 11th in the prelim round.
In 2018 Baylark made it to the outdoor NCAA championship in the 100 meters. On her way there she ran her best time of 11.04 at the NCAA West Preliminary Round. Kirkland participated in the 100 meters at the 2019 NCAA outdoor championships.

LSU's Favour Ofili recorded the top time in the NCAA with her 200 meters win at the LSU Boots Garland Invitational on April 17. She won with a time of 22.30, ahead of teammate Symone Mason who placed second at 23.00. Ofili is a in her freshman season and has been among the best 200 meters competitors since the indoor season. She placed third at this year's SEC Indoor Track & Field Championships before qualifying for the NCAA Indoor Track & Field Championships. Ofili made it to the final round and placed sixth as the only freshman in the race. As for outdoor season, Ofili is the two-for-two in the 200 meters. She won her first outdoor 200 meters race at the LSU Battle on the Bayou with a time of 22.69 on April 3.

Shae Anderson of UCLA ran a winning time of 22.96 at the West Coast Classic - Arizona, April 17. Her personal best finish is ranked 10th in the NCAA and it led her to a victory over Oregon's Kemba Nelson who clocked in at 23.03. UCLA's Makenzy Pierre-Webster placed third at 23.51. Anderson has not lost in any event during the outdoor season. She won the 200 and 400 meters at the Bob Larsen Track Meet on March 27. Earlier this month she had wins in the 100 meters and 400-meter hurdles at the Rafer Johnson/Jackie Joyner-Kersee Invitational. At the West Coast Classic - Arizona meet she won in the 400-meter relay and 1,600-meter relay as well as the previously mentioned 200 meters.

Morgan Kelley of John Carroll raced to a win in the 3,000-meter steeplechase at the OAC Elite Meet, hosted by Otterbein University, Westerville, Ohio, April 17 . She ran 11:19.50 which currently ranks ninth best on the Division III level of the NCAA. The victory was her second 3,000-meter steeplechase win in her career and as in as many weeks. She got her first win at the Mount Union-Outdoor Homon, a week before, when she ran at time of 12:04.22.

USC's Anna Cockrell's time of 12.84 in the 100-meter hurdles at the Long Beach Invitational on April 16, is the second fastest time in the NCAA. She scored her third straight win in the outdoor season and is currently unbeaten in the 100-meter hurdles with wins in the Pepsi Florida Relays and the 42nd Aztec Invitational. Cockrell finished ahead of second place hurdler and teammate Jasmine Jones who clocked in at 12.89.

Texas' Chanel Brissett currently has the fourth best time in the NCAA. She completed the race in 12.85 at the Michael Johnson Invitational meet last weekend. She was the only athlete to finish the competition under 13 seconds. Brissett placed ahead of runner-up Texas A&M's Summer Thorpe who finished with a time of 13.19. There were 35 hurdlers in this event.
