Results in 50-meter, 55-meter and 60-meter dashes from the indoor season count in 100-meter rankings.

1. Marie-Josée Ta Lou—Nation: Ivory Coast—Age: 30

Marie-Josée Ta Lou

Marie-Josée Ta Lou had a stellar indoor season. She placed first in the 60-meter dash at the Meeting Hauts-de-France Pas-de-Calais in France (7.15), Feb. 10 and the PSD Bank Leichtathletik Meeting in Germany (7.02), Feb. 15.

During the 2018 outdoor season she won the 100-meter dash (11.14) at the World Continental Cup in Czech Republic. Ta Lou also won the 100-meter dash five times in Diamond League competition in Monaco, Switzerland, Italy, US and Qatar.

2. Murielle Ahouré—Nation: Ivory Coast— Age:31

In 2018 Ahouré rattled off a 60-meter dash (6.97) win at the World Indoor Championships, in Great Britain. It was her first win after finishing runner-up in 2012 and 2014.

During the 2018 outdoor season she got Diamond League wins in the 100-meter dash, in Switzerland and Norway.

3. Dina Asher-Smith—Nation: Great Britain—Age:23

Great Britain's best sprinter is a two-time national champion in the 100-meter dash. Asher-Smith won her second title in 2018 in a time of 10.97.

She won the at the European Championships, where she ran a personal record of 10.85, last year in Germany. Before 2018, her best was 10.99. Last season she finished under 10.98 five times.

That was a magical day for Asher-Smith, as she took the first in the 400-meter relay, and 200-meter dash that day as well. She scored a first place finish in Diamond League action in Sweden as well.

4. Elaine Thompson—Nation: Jamaica—Age: 26

We all know Elaine Thompson from her two gold medal wins in the 100- and 200-meter dash during 2016 Olympic games.

She scored a win in the 60-meter dash, at the Queen's Grace Jackson Track Meet in Jamaica (7.24), Jan. 27. She placed third at Müller Indoor Grand Prix (7.13), Feb. 25 and fourth at the World Indoor Championships, both of those meets taking place in Great Britain.

In 2018, Thompson won her third straight Jamaican national title at 11.01. She claimed victories in the Kingston Seniors Link Up, Kingston Jamaica International Invitational and Kingston Jamaican Championships.

5. Jenna Prandini—Nation:USA—Age: 26

At the Texas Tech Shootout, Prandini placed second in the 60-meter dash.

During the 2018 season she took the 100-meter dash in the NACAC Championships, in Canada, where she ran her top time of the year (10.96). She was third in the World Continental Cup in the Czech Republic. She also placed third in the US national meet, at 10.98.

Prandini won the Georgetown Cayman Invitational, in the Cayman Islands finishing at 11.16.

6. Dafne Schippers—Nation: Netherlands—Age: 26

On February 16, Schippers won her ninth national title in the 60-meter dash, at the Dutch Indoor Championships.

Her indoor season saw a runner-up 60-meter dash finish at the European Indoor Championships (7.14), March 2. She also had runner-up finishes at Meeting Villa de Madrid in Spain and Indoor Meeting in Germany.

Last year she placed third in the 100-meter dash in the European Championships in Spain. She also placed fourth in the Prefontaine Classic in the US.

7. Mujinga Kambundji—Nation:Switzerland—Age: 26

Mujinga Kambundji

Kambundji has won 21 national championships in Switzerland, since 2009. On Feb. 16, she took her sixth straight crown in the 60-meter dash (7.08) at the Swiss nationals indoor meet.

She had a busy indoor season this year with a runner-up finish at Meeting de Paris, Jan. 12, a first place win at Meeting Elite, in France, Feb. 10, and a fifth place finish at the European Indoor Championships, March 2.

8. Michelle-Lee Ahye—Nation: Trinidad and Tobago—Age: 26

Ahye kicked off her 2019 season with big showings in the US. She won the 60-meter dash at the FasTrak Invitational (7.27), Jan. 19 as well as the New Balance Indoor Grand Prix (7.21), Jan. 26. She placed second at the Milrose Games, Feb. 9 with a time of 7.15.

In 2018, she won the 100-meter dash at the Commonwealth Games, and won her fifth straight national title in Trinidad, both at 11.14.

9. Gina Lückenkemper—Nation: Germany—Age: 22

The youngest competitor in the top ten, Lückenkemper placed third at this year's ISTAF Indoor meet in the 60-meter dash (7.30), Feb. 1.

She is the two-time defending 100-meter dash German national champion, and she also finished second in the European Championships in 2018.

10. Blessing Okagbare—Nation: Ighoteguonor—Nigeria—Age: 30

Blessing Okagbare-Ighoteguonor

Okagbare-Ighoteguonor had a highly competitive 2018, in the 100-meter dash all over the world. She scored a win at the Clyde Littlefield Texas Relays in the US, before a runner-up finish in Diamond League action, in Qatar.

She also had a fourth place finish, at the Bislett Games in Norway, and a fifth place finish at Bauhaus-galan, in Sweden. Okagbare-Ighoteguonor is a three-time Olympian, winning a silver medal in the long jump in 2008. From 2007-16 she won 18 national championships in Nigeria, including seven in the 100-meter dash.
