Sanaa, Alyssa, Morgan & Sole

Sanaa Frederick, Druid Hills High School, Atlanta, Georgia

Committed to: University of Georgia

Passed on: LSU, Alabama & Kentucky

One of two Frederick sisters headed to Georgia, this young lady had the fastest 100 meters and second fastest 200 meters times of the 2023 outdoor season. Sanaa's 100 meters time of 11.41 was the 24th fastest time in the country. Her 200 meters finish of 23.39 was the 25th best in the nation. The Georgia high school state championships have been her world as she is the back-to-back 100 meters and 200 meters champ. She's also swept the 100 meters and 200 meters championships in the DeKalb County High School Championships, the Region 6-AAAA Championships the 4A Sectional B Championships.

What's Ahead: The rich get richer, Georgia already has All-Americans Kaila Jackson, Aaliyah Butler, Dominique Mustin, Haley Tate and Autumn Wilson. Frederick and her sister Sole might make Georgia the deepest program of sprinters if everyone stays with the program.

Sole Frederick, Druid Hills High School, Atlanta, Georgia

Committed to: University of Georgia

Passed on: LSU, Alabama & Kentucky

Oh how lucky is Georgia to be getting Sole Frederick as well. Sole placed second in the 200 meters at the state championships and third in the 400 meters. Her 200 meters time of 23.41 was the third fastest in Georgia and the 26th best nationally. Last season, in 10 200 meters races including prelims and finals, Frederick had six top two finishes and four first place results. In the 400 meters, Sole was the winner at the 4A Sectional A Regions 1,2,6,7 meet.

What's Ahead: Same as the previous athlete.

Morgan Roundtree, Oak Park High School, Oak Park, Michigan

Committed to: University of Miami

Passed on: Ohio State, UCLA, Michigan

A strong hurdler out of the state of Michigan, Morgan Roundtree will add to a charismatic group at Miami. She took a silver medal in the 300-meter hurdles during the state championship meet after winning regional gold. Roundtree was a top three finisher at the state meet in the 100-meter hurdles. In 2022 she was the state champ in the 300-meter hurdles. In 2023 Roundtree had the 11th fastest 300-meter hurdles time in the country at 41.54. Her indoor time of 8.23 in the 55-meter hurdles was the second fastest in Michigan and 35th best in the nation.

What's Ahead: Miami had two NCAA qualifiers last season in the 400-meter hurdles. Sanaa Hebron, who was a freshman, was named Second Team All-America in the event and will be a good mentor for Roundtree when she arrives on campus. Miami has a confident core of athletes who handle themselves like stars and perform that way as well. Roundtree will fit in fine.

Alyssa Banales, McKinney North High School, McKinney, Texas

Committed to: Florida

Passed on: Texas, Georgia, South Carolina

Florida continues to strike gold when it comes to jumpers. Alyssa Banales was the long jump runner-up at last year's Nike Outdoor Nationals with a mark of 20-5. Her best mark of the season was 20-10.75 which was the best in Texas and second in the entire country. In 2022 she won the Nike Indoor Nationals long jump gold at 19-9.75.

What's Ahead: Florida's previous jump queen Jasmine Moore is now a pro, but she left a legacy that Banales can study as she blazes her own path. In two years at Florida, Moore won four triple jump and three long jump NCAA championships.
