Dr Lachlan SoperPublished 2 years ago in UnbalancedThe Best First Aluminum Track Bike. Period.
Stiff, Light, Aero Toobz So you like aluminum fixed gears. Maybe you like the look with their modern, thick, aerodynamic tubing, maybe you like the boosted stiffness to weight ratio over steel bikes because it supposedly makes you go faster, or maybe you just have something against riding a bike that has the same properties as a refrigerator (stick magnet onto frame). So should you get the Aventon, the Tsunami from Aliexpress, the Leader, the State Black Label, or maybe you're a baller and go for the 100% Italian, Chinese-made Cinelli?
Zach GallardoPublished 2 years ago in UnbalancedFixed Gear vs. Single Speed Bikes
What’s the difference between a fixed gear and a single speed bike? Fixed gear and single speed bikes are close cousins in the cycling world, except one cousin dropped out of high school, is covered in tattoos, and drinks a concerning amount of cheap beer; and the other cousin purposefully takes 8:00 AM classes at the local state college. Although one cousin gets way more street cred while the other cousin is “the mildly successful one” that’ll probably go on to be a dental hygienist (or even a dentist!), they both enjoy a healthy amount of self-inflicted suffering in the name of becoming stronger, better cyclists and get along well at group rides (which is definitely not the case for other types of cyclists).

BMX racing is a fun sport for young people. For kids, the basic bike should have 20-inch wheels. Riders under age six can use whatever type of bike they have, even if it’s not a true BMX freestyle bike. These little folks might still be riding bikes with wheels as small as 12-inches. Some tracks even have races for Big Wheel bikes.

MW AdminPublished 2 years ago in UnbalancedDocumentary Review: 'A Peloton of One' An Emotional Ride
A Peloton of One is an emotionally raw and inspiring story about one man healing himself and others from the seat of a bicycle. While you may see the word Peloton and think someone is trying to sell you an expensive at home bicycle set up, a Peloton is actually just a French term for a group of bicycle enthusiasts riding together. Dave Ohlmuller however, in 2017, became A Peloton of One when he decided to ride his bike from Chicago to New York City.

Many years ago the city of Leicester, situated in the East Midlands of the UK, proudly announced itself to the world as the first ‘Environment City’. It was a great aspiration but one it never actually lived up to. The only reminders of this aspiration the moss covered, barely readable signs by the roadside at the borders of this faded city.
